They’re super comfy on the ears especially and piercing friendly as well! Sound quality is great and I love that you can skip/pause as well as adjust the volume without having to use your phone! Also if you’re one who forget to charge your headphones you can easily get a few hours of use with just a couple minutes of charge!

I guess the silver lining in my bad experience with the defective Bose Quiet comfort 35 2's (Wish I had gotten an extended warranty on those.) Led me to discover these Sony's XM4's that are a superior product. After the material of the ear pads on my Bose just split open and fell apart, I'm still very paranoid about that happening and constantly looking at these for any signs of that happening. However, the material seems of very good quality and sturdy on the Sony XM4's And does not have the holes on the padding of the inside either that helps lead to the splitting of the weak material of the Bose in a ridiculously short (Unacceptable period of time for what they cost.) But this time I did get the extended warranty just in case but I feel like I won't be needing it. The XM4's are also better in Tech, as they have so many nice High tech features. And the sound quality is a bit better, with a bit richer bass. The noise cancelling is just as good as the Bose. Was very surprised at how with Netflix and Youtube, Just remove the headphones and what you are watching automatically pauses. The volume control was a little weird at first, but once getting used to is great. If you are looking for a great pair of wireless noise cancelling headphones No need to look any further than the Sony XM4. If I didn't have an expensive car repair right now I'd get a second pair so can always have one fully charged even though the battery life, is long...

Very Much Worth the Upgrade

These headphones have the obvious feature upgrades like 2 device pairings (which is absolutely worth it for anyone who does anything on one device like a tablet or computer and wants to have the ability to answer phone calls, etc on another device), but they have little incremental upgrades that make these feel so much more polished than the prior XM3 headphones. 1. Better speakers and a wider sound-stage while maintaining the punchy base. 2. More comfortable with the extra padding in the ear-cups and wider headband. Anyone who wears earrings or hats will especially value these upgrades or anyone with larger ears. 3. Softer transition noises (pause, play, voice prompts, etc.)! The XM3 had much harsher and more aggressive tones that were annoying when listening later in the evening while wanting to wind down. These have a more polished sound overall. 4. WAY better sound-stage! 5. WAYYYYYYYY better and more reliable touch controls that are more responsive. The XM3 controls were clunky and early-gen to say the least. These feel how the XM3 controls should have been from the beginning. 6. The sensor in the ear-cup that pauses the sound when the headphones are removed is nice-to-have. It's not a critical upgrade b/c it takes no time at all to pause with the touch controls, but it does save the step of needing to pause before removing the headphones. The two cons I have towards these are that the app is a little clunky and the design is a bit old. They are very customize-able , but the app feels a little bit old. It works well, but feels older and less polished. Also, the tech features like talk to pause voice recognition is really not that useful (to me anyways) and it sometimes detects people around me when I'm out in public. I found myself jockey-ing the setting until I finally decided to just leave it off. The design is pretty traditional, and a bit boring compared to the competition (like the Bose 700's).

The build quality is very solid without being too heavy on the head. I was concerned they might be a bit tight on my large head, but they are super comfortable, with a light to moderate clamping force and soft ear-piece cushions. Both of these factors make them easy to wear for extended periods of time. I thought I would have to modify the sound profile using the SONY app made for these headphones to get the sound mixed how I prefer, but they sounded great right out of the box. Clear, well-defined bass, plenty of mids, and brilliant highs. Not muddy in the least as some other reviews stated. I use these every day, both for work and for play. At night, I connect them to the ROKU app for private TV listening, so I don't wake up the house. There is zero lag time or delay between the action on screen and the headphones. They also work great streaming audio from music apps on your phone. The bluetooth range extends a lot farther than most other bluetooth devices I own. I can walk all over the house listening to music while my phone is downstairs in the office and the headphones stay connected and sound great. I haven't tried using them for phone calls yet, but I will. The noise cancelling is amazing. When you put theses over your ears, it's like you disappear into another world. The headphones fold up neatly and fit perfectly in the provided hard case for safe transport. I can't recommend these headphones enough. I'm going to need a second pair because my daughter has discovered them and loves listening to music with them. Get these headphones! They're worth every penny. You will love them!

Love the fact that I can control weather I can hear my surroundings. Great features for these earphones. Battery lasts forever. So far I charged them once and that was when I first got them a month ago. They still have quite a bit charge left. Very happy. My only complaint is that i wish there were buttons instead of touch control for volume and skip. Still love these earphones.

Until then, I was exclusively using earbuds/AirPods, etc. I wanted to prioritize immersive sound, but still have a decent internal mic, so that I could use them for work, if needed. When I tested these in-store compared to similar-tiered options for Bose, Beats, JLab, and Skull Candy (which I really took my time with) Sony outperformed them all for overall balanced sound. I was shocked by this because I went in thinking I would be going for Bose. Once I calibrated my purchased pair, they knocked my socks off! I love the sound test that ensures you hear sound in the way that YOU want. When I brought them to the counter, the cashier asked if I had owned a pair before. When I said no, she said I was going to fall in love with them. She wasn’t lying! I plan on wearing these out and then going for a high-performance set, later. I guess I’m a Sony girl from now on. I’d highly recommend these!

And best of all, their battery life is crazy. I use them work Tidal Master sound quality and it’s like I’m there with the artists sometimes. I wish the interface on the app were better, and that I could change the voice of the menu when using them, but whatever. You won’t regret the purchase. And best part is, I can connect them (with a 3.5” Jack) to my vinyl record player (I use an Audiotechnica player) and the sound is exactly what I was looking for.

Noise cancelling is insane, music quality is crisp and clear. The app has a lot of options lets you adjust the EQ levels very specifically if you so choose. They're comfortable enough that I've fallen asleep wearing them before. The only downsides I find in these headphones is that they will slide off during some workouts at the gym, (mostly ones where you lay flat or at an angle). And they get a bit sweaty while working out, but really what over-ear headphones don't get sweaty, y'know? I also have trouble connecting them with my computer sometimes, but that just might be user error...

Worth the high price

It's got some bass but not too much. Unlike other high end headphone (coughbeatscough), there's some actual high end to this, so sound like symbols aren't lost. The active noise cancelation works a treat too, blocking out most things. It's not complete because there isn't a seal around the ears, but that plus the light weight, makes these things really comfy to wear.

I found that the these are a middle happy ground. Comfortably is better than the px9 (but still not better than the bose) but better more punchy sound compared to the Bose (px9 are more clear and neutral). All this wrapped in a slick black design. Definitely in the top tier among witless noise cancelling headphones.

Excellent all around headphones

Noise cancelling was weird to get used to at first, but now I quite enjoy it. Sound quality is great for the price point. These do last my whole 8-10 hr work day building race engines with charging boosts during my breaks and lunch time. Finish on the plastics do not like solvents like brake cleaner or acetone.
