This is the mother of all headphones ... for the price, anyway. For a higher budget, you can perhaps find something slightly better but not for the "end of year" 2021 Christmas Season Price which knocked almost $100 off of the MSRP. Noise cancelling is great, comfort is 'all-day', and the sound clarity is pristine - clear highs, clean mids and deep lows - with the ability to customize/EQ the sound to suit your personal taste. Overall, a winner! I would definitely recommend!

Game changer for air travel!

These headphones are a game changer on long, international flights! Blocks out almost all sounds. It really makes a flight less stressful without all the noises. I also like the feature to turn off noise cancelling (just touch the right earpiece) if you need to hear an announcement or talk with the flight attendant. Highly recommend for flights!

It has a very clear sound and was a good purchase, hopefully they update with more volume and bass. More bass would be a great thing if volume is maxed.

Best headphones for the price

I dont game online or use them for phone calls so i cant say anything about the microphone quality but they put out awesome sound and are comfortable to wear for hours on end. Even though they are wireless, a great feature to have with aux ports disappearing, i use them wired always and get a wider, fuller, louder sound. Just my personal preference though. Solid headphones and even at full price are well worth the price

Amazing sound, amazing noise cancellation
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded to these from Sony H.ear On 2 (WH-H900N). Some audiophile reviewers complained that out of the box, they sound too "dark" and "bass-heavy" (one audiophile compared these headphones to strapping a pair of Toyota Corollas to one's head). I found the opposite. My previous headphones were much darker and more bass-heavy than these. These have much clearer mid and upper range, while still having a nice punchy bass, even if not as punchy as my old H.ear On 2 headphones. If you are an audiophile, you might find the sound disappointing compared to using analog headphones with a $1000 pre-amp/DAC, but every other reviewer I came across praised the sound quality, and being used to cheaper headphones, I have to agree. As with other Sony headphones, the touch controls are super intuitive and easy to use. The noise cancellation is among the best you can get, and this very much improves the apparent sound quality of any music you listen to. I didn't like the Adaptive Sound Control. It's a good idea in theory, but I found that it constantly made "gong" noises while constantly adjusting the noise cancellation levels. I decided it wasn't worth giving up battery life for the constant interruptions to my music, so I turned it off. and manually adjust noise cancellation and transparency as needed. DSEE is a bit gimmicky (it's basically Sony's audio version of DLSS), but as with my older Sony headphones, I find it worth the loss of battery life for a slight improvement in sound quality. I set it to prefer sound quality over connection stability, but for some reason, it is stuck on AAC and won't use LDAC (I'm using an Android phone, and don't have multi-device turned on). I do not use speak-to-chat, as I talk to myself during podcasts, sing along to songs, etc. As with other Sony headphones, you can cover the right earcup to temporarily turn down the music and turn transparency mode on. The music resumes as soon as you remove your hand. Alternately, you can take the headphones off to pause the music. Either of these works better for me than voice-activated transparency. Fair warning: user reviews from older users report that these headphones are not very durable and can break easily. Treat them with a lot of extra care.

Great but not the Bose-killer

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted these to outperform my Bose 700s, since I felt like the XM3s beat out the QC 35s in every way except some small annoying things (manual device switching, one device connection, etc.). I waited anxiously for months for their release and bought them right away. They’re good, but not great. They solved some of the small annoying things, but they still make you very reliant on a pretty non-friendly app interface to control your headphones. The touch controls are ok but it hammers your ear drum when you tap on the ear cups. The ANC and sound quality seemed to me to be almost identical to the XM3s, which I also owned. Very good in both cases, energetic sound, punchy bass, and almost no outside noise and very low hiss. These are really good headphones, but sadly, still not a Bose-killer for me. The 700s have the ANC edge, the phone call clarity edge, the fullest sound, and the easiest setup and app usability edge.

Got a long battery life too. The feature where it pauses the music when you speak is, however, the most annoying thing on the planet. I spend a few hours trying to figure out how to turn it off before just calling support and figuring it out from there. The hands free audio when you're connected to multiple sources on the computer is also kind of annoying as the hands free audio is (compared to the normal audio) complete garbage. I got around this by simply disabling the hands-free audio sound device on my computer and it worked just fine (with 2 or less programs).

Yes, the price is up there but these are premium headphones. I've had them for a month now and I wear them about 5-6 hours a day. Super comfortable and don't give me a headache. I have a pair of wireless Beats and my only complaint is the comfort or lack of it from them just an hour or so into use. The sound stage and noise-canceling options are icing on the cake. The ability to "turn off" the sounds around me is amazing. If you are debating getting these headphones, they are currently on sale, get them! You will not be disappointed.

I bought the headphones to reduce the noise from my upstairs neighbor who walks like a stampeding elephant. I wear them 24/7 to listen to music or watch TV. I would say the only issue is when you connect 2 devices via Bluetooth, there is a bit of interference.

I do think the app is solid and useful for my use of these headphones. - My headphones firmware updated automatically -be patient, process took several minutes. Initial impression; very comfortable, really good noise canceling and sound quality.

They do a great job of blocking out all the noises in the house and letting me enjoy my late night movie watching. I don’t notice any lag in the dialogue. A single press of the Power button while using them lets you know how much battery life is left. After spending an evening/night watching movies I have yet to get it to drop below 50%.
