The sound quality is the greatest I’ve heard to date and as a audiophile I don’t have any complaints. Battery life is also insane and I’ve never had connection issues. Now the price is steep but my first pair lasted me 2 years of daily use with no issues until one of the ear swivels broke. Even then the audio still sounded as good as the first day I got them. I recommend these headphones to all of my friends, so if you do have the money to purchase them I say go for it. I don’t think you’ll regret it.

Glad I got them at this great price. I also bought the bose quiet comfort headphones, and I have to admit the Sonys sound quality is MUCH better (I returned the bose). Noise canceling is very good, I'm still working with the Sony app equalizer as well as my Samsung music app equalizer, but am overall happy with the sound quality. Have not noticed much (any?) distortion.

I didn't think that was really a thing until I was drying a load of laundry AND cooking with the fan on and didn't hear either. These are exactly what I need and wanted and more. I've never known that headphones could pair to multiple things at once and you could switch between devices seamlessly. The battery lasts a good amount of time and charging is simple. I will never travel without these.

XM4 are still great noise cancelling headphones

My two older children have them. This is the second set I have bought for my daughter. She - literally - wore the first pair to death (24 /7 - 7 days a week.) and they fell apart after 3 years. Unless you're a teenage girl, they will probably last you even longer. These are still probably one of the best pairs of noise cancelling headphones on the market and, these days, you can often get them on sale for much cheaper than Sony's current generation leader WHXM5s. I have enjoyed my own XM4s so much that I have seen no reason to upgrade - and probably won't - until my pair finally kicks the bucket. Unless you need to have the most current shiny - these remain a great choice in HQ NC headphones.

Lost my headphones (left on a plane after an early flight) and decided to get these. Used to be a fan of Sony from back in the day when they were heavy into music, but felt they lacked the edge of technology. Well I am pleasantly surprised that these are excellent in noise cancelling and crisp music. Bose are really good, these are GREAT, they figured it out and are very comfortable. I can wear them for hours at a time. Uses USB-C which is nice because most of my devices connect with the same. The app does what it needs to, and one feature you may want to consider toggling is the pause every time you speak. I did not realize how much I spoke to myself out loud only to realize that I had pause the music. The touch controls on the side are also easy to use and intuitive. Would highly recommend

Great sound; heavy on the bass but you can eq that out. Noise cancelling doesn't remove all higher frequencies but makes them much quieter, while low frequencies are pretty much gone.

But sometimes the headphones would kick me out of silent mode for ambience sound for the little sounds even when I set the settings not to.

Noise canceling or if you want to be able to hear your surroundings as well. The battery life is pretty good while I’m the noise canceling mode.

They sound great, they are comfortable, and they isolate well. My one and only gripe is that the touch controls aren't the best, but they aren't bad either. Very satisfied

Great headphones

I don’t hand out five stars easily but these headphones never cease to amaze me. They have more features than you could ever imagine. If you get stuck in a setting just Google how to get out of it by using the model number of the headphones. It has more settings than are listed in the instructions. These really keep the noise out and would be great on an airplane even in the noisiest seat. They charge in the blink of an eye and the charge lasts me for a week of viewing in the evenings at least. I haven’t had to charge them yet. I just wish the charging cord was longer than 3 inches. They really exceeded my expectations.
