Long overdue upgrade from xm3 to xm4

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Sony headphones in the XM lineup to support LDAC for customized EQ (XM3 doesn't support this). Audio quality had a big improvement because of this. Unfortunately multipoint Bluetooth doesn't support LDAC, so I'm keeping it off. Who needs multipoint connectivity when you can easily tap the headphones with NFC enabled devices and switch as you please. Best and most comfortable headphones in this price range.

Excellent performer with a competative price point

Despite the exsistance of it successor, the mx5, I opeted for these due to the pricing but more importatntly the compact size. These noise canceling headphone have exceeded my expectations, as not only do they provide excellent sound but can be used as a device to isolate low frequency noise to allow me concentrate on cognitive tasks. They do not completely counter all sound, as any active noise can still be heard but in a much more damped state. However, background noise, such as the tv in the other room or noise coming from a neighbour are vertuallyu neutralized. I am very please with this purchase, and at a price point of 250USD this was a great investment

Up until I accidentally snapped the swivel on them… add the protection plan and don’t be like me…

I’m autistic and have auditory processing issues so being in loud spaces is extremely overwhelming for me. These block out so much with the noise canceling mode. The earmuffs are soft and don’t make my earrings dig into my head and I can wear my blue light glasses with them on.

Too many annoying noises in the background distracting your focus? On a plane with the loud dude bloviating his mediocre opinions everywhere? Look no further than this beauty. The noise cancellation is top tier. Audiophiles will love the clarity. This also doubles as a gaming headset if you buy a separate microphone. With a simple click you can hear the battery percentage, and it will likely shock you that you STILL don't need to throw it on the charger yet. 10/10 recommend

I had an older wrsion where the fabric on the ear piece came off in one side after a few years. I bought a newer version (and i think the next step up in quality) as the sound and comfort is fantastic. I highly recommend this product!

A friend of mine who’s really into electronics and high-end audio gear recommended them to me, and I can definitely see why. The surround sound feels very immersive, especially when watching movies or listening to music, and the noise-canceling mode is extremely effective in blocking out background noise. They’re also very comfortable to wear for long periods without feeling heavy or uncomfortable.

The battery life is good, comfort is good, sound is excellent. The fact that I can connect it to my laptop and phone at the same time is a great feature.

The noise canceling mode is great as it even blocks out your own breathing! The headphones are very light so you can wear them for long amounts of time without hurting around your ear so you could definitely wear them to sleep if you wanted.

Folks I can tell you, it is a phenomenal piece of technology for it being a headphone. The crew at Sony that engineered this baby made it so intuitive. The audio through the headphones to telecom the battery levels once you tap the power. Cables you don have use headphones issued on the plane. I am extremely happy with my purchase. Usually, I’d wait a year after manufacture warranty to expire to get a thorough understanding of the product, but I couldn’t contend myself. Parents are really going to appreciate the noises canceling feature but plea use it responsibly. LOL!

I've noticed a major difference between using these noise cancelling headphones and everyday earbuds, Sony is way better and I often hear notes in songs I didn't hear before. I also love being able to control the volume without taking out my phone. 8 months later, they still work like brand new. When extended they fit comfortably over my thick 4c hair. My only con is the process for connecting to new devices can be annoying. I never used the Sony app and deleted it after a couple weeks.

They have more emphasis on the low end out of the box with the ability to deliver deep, ear rattling bass. The Sony app gives me the ability to customize the sound to my liking. The ANC is more [compared to the PX’s] effective with reducing ambient noise and while I don’t utilize all the available tech now, it’s very comprehensive & I may experiment down the line. Overall I am very satisfied & they were well worth the wait!

The bass and mods are punchy and the treble is exciting and lively. The added surface area on the earcups spread the already light pressure across more of your head, making a much more comfortable fit. The multipoint connection works for the most part, but as of firmware 2.0.6 it still needs some tweaks, especially for MacOS and iOS switching. All in all this is a sold pair of headphones, but I would consider doing more research if you already have the XM3s.

Great noise cancellation pindrop silence. Concert mode ambient noise mode are perfect feels like I am in auditorium. Very comfortable to wear, no pain on ear even after wearing for long duration
