The headphones don’t disappoint. They cancel background noise very well, the sound is really good with punchy bass, and the battery lasts. I’m glad they use usb type c which is the new norm. There’s also a companion app that adds features and is very convenient. All in all I am very satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend.

And when you take the headset off it pauses the music. If only the sound was louder . Me personally I want to sound like I have in AirPods . But these are great for people that don’t care about the loudness

As with the XM3s, amazing sound, comfort, and noise cancelation.

I work in a factory where we can listen to music and these headphones are always on me and they help so that I don’t have to hear all the loud noise around me with the noise cancelling mode. Great product!! My brother put me onto these headphones:)

I wear a size 8-1/8 hat and this still fits well. Noise cancelling works as well as any other brand I have tried. the touch commands on the ear to control music and volume is extremely convient.

We are thrilled that your WH-1000XM4 headphones arrived on time and are working perfectly for your husband! It sounds like the noise cancellation is definitely living up to its reputation. If you ever need to get his attention without him taking the headphones off, he can simply cover the entire right earcup with his hand to activate "Quick Attention Mode," which instantly turns the music down and lets ambient sound in. He can also enable the Speak-to-Chat feature in the Sony Sound Connect app, which will automatically pause his music the moment he starts talking to you. Thanks for choosing Sony.

Good, but could use a few tweaks to be great

I've never really had a pair other than airpod pros. I mainly use these while I'm studying, listening to lectures or on Zoom calls. I love that you can connect to two devices at the same time via bluetooth. These headphones are much smaller and lightweight than I thought they would be. The app you need to accompany it is okay to use, but does not have a ton of functionality. There are a couple of major points that I do not like. 1st, the padding on the earcups is not very thick. Your ears may touch the inside of the headphones if they aren't on the smaller side. I have tried to replace them with aftermarket ones, but have not found the right one yet. 2nd, the talk to speak function, it will pause headphones if it indicates you speaking, is very sensitive. It reacts to a slight clearing of the throat or other sound easily. Then it will take a few seconds to reconnect to what you were engaged in. 3rd, to get the full functionality of these headphones, such as 360 Reality Audio, you have to subscribe to "premium" apps or services that utilize it. For the price, that is off-putting.

We're sorry to hear that you have issues with your SONY unit. Adjust the length of the headband. Put the headset on your head with the (left) mark on your left ear and the (right) mark on your right ear. There is a tactile dot on the (left) mark side. By using the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can change the settings of the wearing detection automatic music playback pause and resume function and the wearing detection automatic power off function (the battery saving function). Great quality, functional, sleek, would buy again

Great noise-cancelling feature and the ambient background noise option is great when I need a little white noise, but not full-blown noise while working in places like open-office spaces, cafes, etc. HOWEVER: The only thing I don't like about them is that when I'm on the phone, sometimes the noise-cancelling feature doesn't work as well when I'm in a crowded place with some noise and the noise-cancelling feature is actively trying to cancel noise, you feel me? That's the only thing that bothers me so far, otherwise, I LOVE THEM! Color: Headphones are professional, sleek-looking, and pairs well with my other tech things. The slightly pearl looking finish is a nice touch, especially since over-the-ear headphones can look very bulky/chunky. Comfort: Great, soft headpiece at the top, very comfortable ear pieces. I don't know about you, but I hold a lot of heat in my head which makes wearing these for more than 1 hour in the winter time (northeast US) a little uncomfortable. However, they make for good earmuffs when I'm jumping in and out of the car when shopping. Price: I paid the sale price on these which wasn't too bad, but I had to wait a year or two for them to be the price I was willing to pay. Overall: I am not disappointed! Love these and would buy them again in the future.

These steps may also help when using the mic function of the headphones:
-Re-establish the connection between the source device and the headset.
-Select HFP or HSP for the profile.
-You can also check the settings of the app that you are using for mic sensitivity if available.

Effective Noise Cancellation

I have never tried any in this class or more expensive so I can’t compare except to cheap headphones & earbuds. These are much better. I like the noise cancelling. I had very close neighbors who would fight a lot and windows were open in nice weather. This blocked them very well. They are gone. I still love the phones. I listen to mostly classical music and oldies from 60’s. I think the music sounds good. I can well distinguish individual instruments in classical music, making it very beautiful. I’ve had these over 2 years and still love them.
