Hi JeniGilbert80, While we are glad to hear that you are happy with the sound quality of your new WH-1000XM4, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing discomfort after using the headphones for a long period of time. You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. Try lowering the volume or take a break from wearing them for a while.

With closed-back and over-the-ear design of these headphones, you can ensure that the sound leakage should be very minimal. The noise canceling function works primarily on noise in the low-frequency band such as vehicles and air conditioning. Although noise is reduced, it is not completely canceled. These should be pretty effective at canceling out noise and even more so if you have audio playing while the noise cancelation features are on.

For Bluetooth connection, if the headset is connected to a Bluetooth device, you may fail to connect the headset to other devices. In that case, operate the last connected Bluetooth device and disconnect the Bluetooth connection. To pair a second or subsequent device, press and hold the power button of the headset for 7 seconds or more to enter pairing mode.

We are sorry if the bass sound of these headphones did not live up to your expectations. If you haven't yet, please download the Sony Headphones Connect app as it includes all sorts of tools which can be customized to fine-tune your music. There is even an EQ for bass and treble sound. This will give you more control over your headphones and their performance.
