great build quality sounds amazing, really decent battery life and comfortable! ANC is amazing on these headphones dont miss out on these 10/10

Battery lasts for very long periods of time. Bought them 2 weeks ago, came with 54% battery out of the box and been using them every other day for 2 hours flights. Have not recharged them yet. Sound quality is really good. Better than apple, and slightly better than bose. They are equalized with higher bass, but can be fixed with the heaphones app.

Amazing headset with great sound quality and battery life. The noise cancelling works great for when I am doing focus work.

The noice cancellation is out of this world. Very worth the money and I would recommend to everyone. Fit very well in the ears. Only “complaint” is in the gym when you get sweaty they slip a little bit that’s with every over ear headphone. I’ve had them over a month and haven’t had to charge them, they basically last forever. These are VERY great.

[Employee of bestbuy] I loved these headphone for studying. The noise cancellation on them is amazing and the customizable features and buttonless gestures are so cool. However, if you are looking to get these for the gym, I would stray away because these aren’t meant for that and I dont think they are water resistant. They also dont fold so they aren’t too portable, but they did come with a case and everything is high quality.

Really like these headphones. Fit is great and both sound quality as well as noise cancelling properties are superb. There is a pro and con with its associated phone app, but overall I like its integration and tuneability of the bass/treble levels to your liking. Overall definitely a recommended headphone, and feel best bangs for your bucks.

Sound quality 10/10 Noise Cancellation 100/10 if that were possible. Battery Life 10/10 Comfort 10/10 You get what you pay for. And in this instance, worth every penny. I am going to buy my wife a pair too. I have never wrote a review before so I can’t stress enough how much I enjoy these headphones. I am so glad I ran into the sales associate who recommended them to me. MUST BUY.

Feature packed, super light, super comfortable but they do get your ears a little warm after awhile. The noise cancelling it's top notch and the audio get pretty loud. The touch features come in handy, I use them more than I thought I would. Battery life is great, with uses here and there I went a month on the factory charge before having to charge them up for the first time. These are definitely worth it.

Great set of headphones, extremely light. Used for a couple weeks for work without needing to charge, charged from 30 to 100 percent in 1hr. This generation has an amazing improvement in sound quality with the carbon fiber drivers. With this new version all distortion at high volumes from bass is completely eliminated, unlike the XM4s or Bose 700 headphones. 10/10 would buy again.

The redesigned WH-1000 XM5 is more comfortable, lighter, more durable, and better sounding than ever. Sony took their top of the line sound quality and active noise cancelation and made it even better. Connectivity has gotten easier and more reliable and I have yet to find a single flaw or letdown with this latest iteration.

I live these headphones. They’re work so well and are very light weight. They sound super good and rarely do they hurt my ears after long periods of use

I absolutely love the WH-1000XM5’s. Having owned Bose and a few other headphones with noise canceling I can say this is the best noise canceling I’ve experienced. The sound quality is excellent, the battery life is long, and after getting used to them I’m really liking the touch controls. I do wish the case wasn’t so bulky and the design is a bit boring, but overall I can’t think of another pair of headphones I’d pick over them right now, especially for traveling and work. The box includes the headphones, a USB-C cable, 3.5mm cable, and a carrying case with a neat little magnet flap to hold the cables. The case has some geometric elements that I like a lot and I feel like it does a good job protecting the headphones, but it’s very bulky and takes up quite a lot of space in my bag due to the headphone’s inability to fold at all. The headphones themselves look really nice, if a little generic. I’m actually more fond of the design on the older XM4’s and I don’t think these have all that much personality, but they don’t look bad by any means. The construction is all plastic, but it feels durable and the headphones are super light on the head. They’re extremely comfortable to wear and I didn’t experience any fatigue in the hours I’ve worn them. Getting the XM5’s setup on my Pixel 6 was a little bit of a hassle but not too bad. I downloaded the Sony Headphones app and proceeded to connect the headphones through the app, but was also dealing with competing notifications from the Android Fast Pair. The Sony app has a few agreements to click through and permissions that need to be enabled to support all of the headphone’s features. I chose not to enable the location permission for switching sound based on location, but did enable the adaptive sound option for changing the sound based on my activity. The app hasn’t changed a whole lot since the last pair of Sony headphones I had, but it is functional and offers easy access to adjust the sound settings and functions. There was one section of the app called Activity that seems to gamify listening to these, but to what end I’m not sure and I left that off. Besides one issue that I believe is specific to my Pixel phone and not the headphones, I haven’t had any problems using these. The sound is full without being overly bassy, has a good amount of detail in the tracks, and gets plenty loud. The touch controls on the right ear cup took some getting used to but now that I’ve got the gestures down it feels very natural. I especially like the hand over ear cup gesture to activate transparency mode; that’s super handy especially when working in the office and I need to quickly answer a question. The quality of the transparency mode is also excellent - it sounds very natural, though not quite up to the level of what I’ve heard on the AirPods Pro. The noise canceling performance is fantastic; I feel completely isolated from the world with it enabled and with content playing at anything but the lowest volume TV noise, buzzing and outside conversation completely fall away. It’s actually a little unnerving. The one issue I am having is the sound with LDAC enabled is extremely choppy. My phone seems to default to the highest quality 900 kbps playback, which the Pixel 6 has been known to have problems with since it launched last year. Switching it to the mid-range 600 kbps playback solves the problem, but unfortunately I have to do it every time I turn the headphones on in the developer settings or else change the Sony app to favor connection over quality, which defaults to AAC instead. I’m not putting this as a point against the headphones because I’m almost positive it’s a Pixel issue. Supposedly Google has a fix in the works for this summer, so hopefully I’ll be able to listen to them at full bandwidth soon. It’s something to be aware of if you own the Pixel 6 though. Microphone quality is very good. My voice comes through quite clear and while I wouldn’t recommend doing any serious recording on it it’s more than fine for calls. Overall I’m extremely happy with these headphones. If you work in a noisy office or travel a lot I don’t think there’s a better option out there right now, though it may be worth considering the older XM4’s as they incorporate a lot of what the XM5 offers and are often on sale.

Absolutely love them. I use them for the gym and for when I'm out an about. The sound quality and the noise cancelation are amazing. Really feels like im just surrounded by the sound. THE BATTERY LIFE IS MY FAVORITE... it lasts sooooo long and i love that they turn off on their own after some inactivity (when music isnt playing)

Some stuff is good some stuff needs to be improved The surface of the arch that fits your head is very thin, this looks good, but it makes it so that the point of contact in your head is minimal. Since only a small part of this surface touches your head, there is a lot of pressure on it, and after an hour, the top of my head starts hurting, and I have to move the ring around throughout the day to avoid this pain, which is very annoying. The headphone comes with sensors which detect if you have them on. It comes with an app where you can choose if to turn the headphones off when you take them off your head by using the sensor. This is amazing for saving batteries meaning you don't have to charge them often because you forgot to turn them off manually. The problem is you can choose a timer for the to turn off and turn off immediately after taking them off, making it very annoying when you want to take your headphones off for multiple reasons like going to the toilet, talking to someone else or simply moving them around to find a more comfortable position, they turn off and if you are in a meeting on slack or teams, skype you will have to go through the process of connecting a device to these apps again which is very annoying

Slightly better Noise-Cancelling than Bose, very light and more comfortable over the ears than the prior generation of headphones. Battery lasts 30-35 hours between recharges when new. Microphone is good in anything except wind. The case is very nice, a little bulkier than others but much more secure. The color does not rub off or scratch easily, so it still looks nice even after weeks.

These headphones are so good. Ive had them on my wish list for a while and I finally pulled the trigger and I dont regret it at all. The customization is honestly the best feature and really sets them apart from competitors. They are really loud and the sound is crisp. They are extremely comfortable to wear and arent heavy on the head at all. The ear cushions are great as well and have a nice seal.

Right out of the box I was so excited to pair these Sony WH-1000XM5 with my iPhone 13 Pro. Simply need to put it into pairing mode and it was ready within seconds. Download the Sony Headphones app from the App Store and my headphones were ready to be used to the fullest. The technology that Sony has paired into this set of headphones is impressive. Noise-canceling on this pair of headphones is impressive. I can't hear much of any external noise when I'm around noisy environments. Working from home I can't hear the cooling fan, external speaker, or vacuum when the noise canceling is active. Even more impressive is the sound quality on phone calls or online web meetings. I had my music speaker on 40% volume during a phone call and the other party couldn't hear my music, as only my voice was making it through to them. Sony has crafted a pair of smart headphones with advanced technology built into them. One QN1 noise-canceling processor paired with the Integrated V1 processor can really cancel out the background commotion. There are a total of eight microphones that are actively monitoring external noise to give you the best audio experience as a headphone user. Inside the ear cups are 30mm drivers that do an exceptional job at sound quality for crisp high notes and deep bass notes as well. With the app, you can easily fine-tune the sound preference which suits your hearing best. There is built-in AI in the form of DSEE Extreme to help upscale compressed digital music files to ensure that I'm getting a full experience for my music of choice. Four beamforming microphones on this pair of headphones are designed to capture your voice in full clarity and precision. Hands-free operation is possible with the touch interface that can be turned on/off through the app. The right ear cup allows for volume and music controls for example. These particular headphones also have the ability to pause your music when you start to speak so you can converse when needed, and this feature can be turned on/off via the app. Also depending on your movements, the ANC will adjust in case you're moving around your home or various locations, and this feature took me some getting used to but can be turned on/off via the app. Alexa is also built-in and can be activated if you choose to. Pair these Sony headphones easily to two devices at the same time, which has been helpful for listening to music from my iPhone and then connecting to my Windows laptop for a virtual meeting. There is a nice hardshell case that comes with these to help protect this luxury set of headphones. Also included in the case is a 3.5mm gold plate L-shape audio wire so you can listen to your headphones with a wired connection if you choose to. Also, there is a USB-PD cable for charging purposes. Battery life is stated to be up to 30 hours of total play, and you can get a 3-hour charge in just 3 minutes with the provided USB-PD compatible AD adapter. The overall fit of these headphones is really nice. I can wear these for long periods of time without feeling discomfort. The pads are large and soft with the leather encircling your ear in full. The headphones are adjustable with nice smooth and quiet movement across the headband, without clicking to set a place on your headband size. The look and design of these headphones are very upscale and minimalistic which I like because I don't want to be flashy with branding and attract attention with my headphone choice. For me, this has been a great set of headphones so far for home usage and while commuting. They offer incredible noise cancellation and truly are one of the best sets I have ever used. The style is elegant and upscale. This is a luxury set of headphones meant for use in stationary settings and multi-tasking. I would not recommend using these for any exercise or precipitation weather, since there is not an IPX rating. Very light! I wish they were a little heavier just so that they felt more premium. I don’t really like the connectivity of it but they provide great sound!

Had these for 9 months now and they’re amazing! They feel like clouds on your ears as you can wear these for hours and they’re comfortable the whole time. The battery life is great. Love these for traveling. The sound quality is crisp and I would highly recommend getting them.
