Manufacturer defect/Sony wont honor warranty

Eventually to the XM4's and now the XM5's. I used my headphones roughly 8 hours a day pretty much every day and every pair held up just fine until the XM5's. This is my second pair of XM5's that have broken due to manufacture defect in the hinge. This hinge problem is a well known issue by Sony with hundreds of posts on various websites. Their own sony support forums has a post with over 12000 views for the hinge issue. For reference the rest of their posts only have a few hundred views, maybe breaking 1000 on one or two. The first pair of XM5's lasted 1 day after the warranty. The most recent pair only lasted 6 months. The only thing that has happened with these headphones is they go from my head to my desk to charge then back on my head the next day. Sony refuses to honor their 1 year warranty for manufacturer defects. Instead of fixing their mistake they will try to charge you $100 to fix their defect. If you look at any of the other broken headphone posts on bestbuy or wherever. ITS ALWAYS at the hinge. This is a clear defect and Sony like all large corporations try to play innocent. check the pictures in the post. got one of both pairs and then the most recent pairs break I really don't want to leave a one star review because these headphones sound AMAZING. and their battery life is fantastic and on top of that they charge quickly. 10-15 minutes and they are good to go usually. So if you are a minimum use headphone user these are probably okay if you got cash to spend, but i cannot recommend these. For $400 dollars a pop they should last more than a year.

I love everything about them when it comes to the noise cancellation and sound and even the app where u can customize the sound. However connecting it to my laptop tends to give me a headache. I use an HP 2 in 1 laptop and it drives me insane. I’ve sat here for the past 20 minutes trying to connect my headphones to my laptop and it still won’t work. It says it connect at moment and then my show would play but no sound would come out and then this ear piercing sound comes out of it basically shutting down my headphones. I would have to then repeat the process over and over and over again in hopes that it would eventually connect.

But other than that they sound good. Also they turn my music off with any small movement or wind/ water.

Regarding the audio cutting out, this is likely the Speak-to-Chat or touch sensor reacting to movement or wind, both of which can be easily disabled in the Sony | Headphones Connect app to ensure your music stays on.

Amazing headphones!

I love them. They provide the level of sound and noise cancelling that I need in order to get work done or get a workout in or just listen to music and be in a zone. The fact that they come with their own carrying case and there is a space in the carrying case for the cords is also so convenient as well, means that I can literally carry everything in one case and I don't need to carry an extra cord or anything since it's all in the case. Also, being able to not use the bluetooth feature but directly plug into a headphone jack was also something that drew me to this product as I often switch between my phone and my computer this feature makes it much easier to transition. There is also an app that lets you customize your listening experience and I find this to be helpful in providing the best listening experience for me.

I love listening to my music very loud, they have great bass. Also, my opinion might not be the most valid since I’m not a headphone expert or anything like that, but they are amazing quality!! Very long battery life too, and it was very much worth the price.

I previously had Bose QuietComfort, but the sound quality with the WH1000XM5 is significantly better. I have never had a pair of Sony headphones as I have always been partial to Bose. After purchasing these headphones, Sony will be my go-to choice. Also, the app you download with these headphones allows you to customize your sound experience more than any other headphones I have had. Would definitely recommend this product.

I started with the 700’s, the quality of the set and sound are second to none for that price point. The noise canceling has also improved from the set I purchased two years ago. I use them at the gym every day and the battery life is incredible. Great choice for this price point. I recommend to all.

Great travel headphones

You can hardly hear anything from your surroundings, which is a great feature for people that have flying anxiety. Bad design, brittle headband
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this almost exactly 6 months to the day and the THIN part of the headband snapped in my hands as i was putting the headphones on... just ridiculously bad design. now they want me to pay $100 just to fix it... so pretty much the unit ends up being $400... absolutely worthless other design issues There's no way to quickly turn on and turn off the touch controls, so if it's raining and you put a hoodie on it will continuously trigger the touch controls and will shuffle everything around similar to the above issue is the direction that the pads rotate; the pad rotate so that the touch controls are against your body, meaning the touch controls would get triggered randomly when your moving around! this also means the hard part of the pads are again your clavicle, which kinda hurts when you're moving around, or running. Positives Good sounds quality Good noise canceling feature, but not as good as the WH-1000XM4, in my opinion Honestly if you're looking into getting sony headphones, i would just the WH-1000XM4. but i wouldn't really bother getting any other sony products for myself.

But very comfortable and the added advanced touch features and immersive /360° audio definitely bridges any doubts about these headphones. Ear cups can get hot if doing activity. So if thats the case, i wouldnt recommend

They are really comfortable fit and very soft material. They are also different how you adjust the size, by sliding them up on each side. The sound quality is clear and immersive. Exceptional headphone worth its price

The noise cancellation is amazing and I love the fact your music stops when you move them off your ears. For the price, it’s so worth it. This version is way more comfortable and sounds even better, as well as the anc. Love them. I personally don't care that they don't fold like previous XMs
