Sturdy build, comfortable ear cups, and long battery life with great sound. My only cripe would be that it doesnt fold, so the case is a bit big, but well worth the sacrifice

I would say the noise cancellation is high quality, and they are also comfortable, i do feel a bit of a headache if i leave them on for too long bc they are a little heavy. Recently it has been turning off my sound cancelling which was really annoying but it’s a click of a button to fix and maybe i have something in the settings that makes it do that. I’d recommend them but only if ur willing to spend the hefty $400+tax price. The sound is amazing, and you can get the app which allows you to change how you hear the music, more bass etc.. but listening to the 4’s in store they sound similar, the 5’s are just a bit crisper and i like the look of them more. Also I have charged them once in like mid sept (posting 10/6) and the battery is amazing i think i’m at 40%. the case is a little bulky but i don’t mind bc it still fits in my bag

Great Headphones

I bought these a little bit over 5 weeks ago and I told myself if I didn’t like them I’d return them I did multiple testing with them studying, casual walking, going on runs, and at the gym and they passed all the test. Besides having amazing noise cancellation the ambiance noice setting is great for when I need to hear the environment around me. Also downloading the app is great to control the music quality PS.Bass is amazing with these. The only downside I’d say for me personally is that they don’t fold all the way so they’re not the easiest to carry around without its case. Overall a solid 9.7/10 on these from a formal airpod pro user Pros- Amazing noise cancellation, great sleek look, long battery life Cons- Hard to carry, Price (Wish it was a little bit cheaper but overall a great Sony product)

Blue Tooth Issues

My issues with these headphones is the blue tooth constantly disconnects. Also, the noise canceling quality is not very good.

For Bluetooth connectivity:
- Please ensure your headphones are updated to the latest firmware using the Sony Headphones Connect App.
- In the app, you can also set the set the headset to “Priority on stable connection”, which can reduce the audio/Bluetooth dropouts.
- Try to avoid using the headphones in areas with heavy wireless interference, such as near microwave ovens, crowded trains, or when surrounded by multiple wireless communication audio devices.
For noise cancelling performance:
- Make sure the headphones are properly fitted and fully sealed over your ears—this makes a big difference in blocking outside sound.
- In the Sony Headphones Connect App, use the "Auto NC Optimizer" feature, which adjusts performance based on your environment and personal fit.
- Double-check that Adaptive Sound Control isn't automatically lowering noise cancelling in certain situations; you can manually set it to "Noise Canceling" using the app for maximum effect.

My only complaint about the product would be the noise canceling feature, since it is a little lacking compared to other products. Either way it's still over all a good quality product.

Good headphones, poor touch sensor

I don't understand why Sony and most other headphone manufacturers feel the need to include touch capabilities in such a way that it reduces overall functionality. 1. If you're using this pair of headphones under hot weather and your ears get sweaty, the touch sensor gets erroneous input 2. When swiping with a finger, the margin of error for directional swipes is too low 3. If the touch capabilities are disabled with the phone app, the ear cup nonetheless still *beeps* when it senses your finger Noise-cancelling is best-in-class. Design aesthetic is awesome. Sound quality is great. Despite no longer folding in for a compact storage like previous models, the lack of another structural point of failure makes me indifferent to this issue. I'd give it five stars, if only Sony could also provide the option for actual button inputs.

Better than the XM4s Despite the Trade-Offs

The latter ate legendary headphones, and I questioned whether the higher price of the XM5s was worth it. I think the 5s justify their highe price for a few key reasons: stronger Acrive Noise Cancellation (ANC), better-than-advertised battery life, larger ear cups, and a noticeably lighter weight. I do still wish the 5s folded up into a more compact carrying size like the 4s, but the superior performance won me over. I also noticed the XM4s sit slightly on the ears. Despite being well padded, they could result in discomfort over time. The XM5s' cups sit fully around my grown man ears and were noticeably more comorrtable. I wore them on a few transatlantic flights and felt fine even after 8+ hours.
