I love the accompanying app which allows me to customize the sound equalizer and other features. These are the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned; I wear them when I study, clean, and craft. Amazing noise canceling ability with very user-friendly ability to temporarily disable it either manually or by voice. Easily one of the best tech purchases I’ve ever made.

Also because the XM5 does have some cool features such as the ambience mode, especially the noise-cancelling mode so you can hear your inner demo- I mean, your music. The feel and quality of the headphones is quite sturdy and soft, specifically the thing or part that goes around the ears, it doesnt feel squished or weighted down as much compared to other headphones. So yeah, Sony Supremacy ig.

The sound quality is excellent from the phones; the quality from the microphones is OK. They are light in weight, which is nice. I wonder how well the ear pads will wear. Overall, the workmanship feels and looks good - as usual for Sony. The microphone does not work when using the wired connection, not mentioned in the documentation! Fortunately the excellent Sony support staff quickly explained that this is how it’s designed. Swiping on the phones to change the volume is clumsy and slow. Also annoying: the power button is an awkwardly placed tiny button. The unit shuts off automatically when taken off, which is nice - but requires more effort than it should to restart.

Purchased the Sonos Ace and the Apple Air Pods Max and the Sony 1000XM5 out performed them by a land slide. The clarity was comparable to the Ace and Max, but the bass was significantly better. This review is for a second pair I ordered for my wife!

While we designed these with a lightweight "Soft Fit Leather" headband to be very comfortable for most, we understand that fit can be a very personal experience. We suggest adjusting the sliders slightly to find the best weight distribution for your head shape, as this can often help during longer listening sessions.

Excellent Comfortable Product

I have used them a decent amount, and everything is great. The comfort is a highlight. I wear glasses and some over the ear headphones feel uncomfortable (like the airpods max) but these feel so good on my head. The noise cancelling is what I would come to expect from first party audio companies nowadays. The sound is great and I haven't noticed any problems. I got these for less because I am an employee and I would likely buy these for full price if I was needing a nice pair of over the ear headphones.

The way it cancels background noise while on phone calls is unbelievable. The battery life lasts forever. I honestly forget that it has a battery. I barely ever charge it.

The Built-In Microphones in Both the Earpiece is an Innovative Masterpiece. One Example is, I owned a Pair of XM2 (of the multiple I've owned) for a period of 3Yrs& 2Months. and worked as good ax the Day I bought them. I'm Wheelchair Bound with a Back Pack affixed to the Back of the 'Chair'. Had it Not been for them being STOLEN out of the Back Pack while I was on a Community Transit Bus I WOULD Still have Them. I had taken them off & put in Bk Pk for just a minute due to mechanical Wheel Chair Problem. When after getting off the BUS & Trying to get them, They WERE GONE.
