My Sony WH1000XM5 headphones from Best Buy are like a fairytale for my ears! Noise-canceling? It's like an instant peaceful island getaway - even at family gatherings! Comfort? It's like two fluffy clouds hugging my ears during Netflix marathons. Touch controls? I feel like a DJ at a silent disco, swiping to adjust volume. Battery life? Endless! I haven't charged them in a month. Are they secretly aliens? Sound quality? It's so good; I can hear music notes high-fiving in my brain. Plus, they're cat-ignoring magic! My cat knocked things off shelves, but I was too busy jamming out! :') In short, Sony WH1000XM5 headphones are audio paradise. I'm a noise-canceling, music-loving superhero now! P.S. If you see me dancing in the street, blame these magical headphones!

I bought these headphones for my boyfriend for Christmas last year and he LOVES them. I fell in love them them too, so much so that I bought a pair for myself! The sound, is crystal clear, and full and the headphones are soooo light and cozy, yet dont slip at all. We can both wear them for hours and totally forget we have them on.

Why did I wait so long to get some over the ear headphones?! These are incredible! Great ANC, amazing sound quality over Bluetooth and 3.5mm, and very comfortable. I use them for music, planes, and games and TV when my wife is sleeping. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. The control app also allows you to choose a custom equalizer similar to choosing an eyeglass prescription (better 1 or 2?) which gives the best sound to your ears. Add to all this, the battery lasts forever. I have used these for easily 10-15 hours and only used 30% battery with ANC on full time. These are not cheap but they are certainly worth it if you want great quality. The only downside is the lack of any waterproofing (the instructions even warn against sweating. But I would still give 5 stars as these are not meant for heavy outdoor/exercise use.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 is (IMO) the best wireless headphone for its pricepoint and one of the best on the market..PERIOD. Excellent transparency, the best call quality, arguably the best ANC, great connectivity, and super comfortable. It's sound quality is a bit subjective as straight out of the box I felt it sounded good but not great. A little bass heavy and bloated but it also has one of the best app EQ's which makes it sound fantastic once you find your favorite settings and really brings it up to par with other wireless headphones that are twice the price. In fact if I had to find one flaw it would be the short charge cable (a 6" cable is a joke) but that's the only thing I can think of. I absolutely love the XM5 and it is DEFINITELY worth it's price tag.

I love these headphones, they are better than the Beats Solo with the over the ear. The sound quality is amazing too! I highly recommend them for anyone who is interested in noise cancellation.

Very expensive, but after a month of use I absolutely love these headphones. The noise canceling works great, the sounds is fantastic, they are comfortable to wear for hours and the battery life is long. I didn't own a pair of xm4 so I don't have a comparison but these are well worth the money thus far.

I’ve been using it for almost 4 years. It’s been excellent for my college classes as well as listening to music basically 24/7. It charges fast and lasts very long. The audio controls occasionally have some issues, but a quick Bluetooth connection restart fixes it. I love it and would recommend it for any student or avid listener.

This headphones are incredible. Comfortable for long wear and has the best sound quality in any headphones I’ve ever owned. I use these headphones for everything like gaming, working out, music, etc.

I bought these a couple of months ago and I overall really like them! They have exccelent noise cancelling and great connectivity. The music and shows I listen to are always really clear. Battery life is also excellent. *** However, the band can get pretty uncomfortable after using for a couple hours, and I don’t love that they can’t fold.

I'm a big fan of the Sony WH-1000 series of over-the-ear headphones. I have XM5 and XM3. My husband took my XM3 after I got the XM5. Love the feel of them much more than other headphones -- super-comfortable and easy to wear for a long time at work. I wear mine for music, noise cancelling, and online meeting. The only issue, if my co-worker who sits next to me is also on the exact same online meeting with her wireless headphones at the same time, the Sony gets some feedback. I take them off wireless and plug in if that happens and the issue is gone. It happens rarely enough that it's not a dealbreaker. I've tried Bose before, and these are so much better and more comfortable, so I'm pretty to committed to the Sonys. One annoyance: Best Buy sent Navy instead of silver, but maybe it was for the best as the Navy is a cool color and probably doesn't show dirt like a Silver would have.

Before I review this I have to say I am not an audiophile so this is more of a layman's review. I bought these headphones after watching numerous reviews from YouTube. To me, they sound great out of the box but if you download the app, you can customize the sound to how you like. I'm sure there will be other reviews with how these noise cancel on a technical level but for me, my lawn company comes around at least twice a week with their loud leaf blowers, weed whackers, lawn mowers and such. With these on, I hear very minimal of that noise. They are comfortable for long periods of use (over 2 hours for me) and they aren't too heavy on the head. There's several convenience features like holding your hand over the right ear to soften the sound so you can hear other people or you can just start talking and it will do the same and stop your music (although these are neat features I think most people might find it rude if you talk to them without taking off your headphones). All in all I am very happy with the money spent on these.

I’ve only had these for 3 weeks but so far I love them! I’m able to wear them for an extended period of time without much discomfort on my head. My only issue is sometimes they will lose connection for no reason and I have to reconnect on my iPhone which can be annoying.

I loved my 1000XM3s. They were my daily driver headphones for over 2 years. When they finally died on me, I decided to try the Apple AirPods Max. Wow what a mistake that was. They were bulky, heavy, and did not sound nearly as good as I would have hoped for their cost. I returned the AirPods for these Sonys, which were on sale for about half the price of the AirPods. These sound SO MUCH more premium and are infinitely more comfortable. I wish these would fold up a little smaller, but I have no real complaints about them. I love that I can use these as Bluetooth or with an INCLUDED aux cable.

Picked these up on sale to replace my old xm3s, I like these so much better. On/off detection is my favorite feature upgrade going from the 3s to the 5s, definitely saves on battery life for my forgetful self. They are also much lighter and more comfortable when wearing for long periods. I gave them a nice 12 hour trial run right after getting them and was plesently surprised how little ear fatigue I had. After wearing the xm3s that long I'd start twitching above the ear, nothing like that with the 5s. They're really good at switching between devices. I switch between my phone (android), iPad, and laptop (windows) quite a bit and haven't had to manually toggle the connection at all so far. I wish it was a little more visually clear which side is left vs right. They are labeled, but it's kinda hard to see in low light and I can never remember which side the power button goes on and always seem to miss it when I'm feeling for it to put them on.

comfortable headphones - I have glasses and I cannot have the headphones too tight. These stay on nicely and don't feel like they will damage my glasses. sound quality - is excellent. I've got a music service that these headphones can take advantage of for better sound. battery life - haven't really tested this. Although they have lasted all day while I travel. style - i like the simplistic design on the headphones and the color does stand out a bit, but i don't want to forget it anywhere so I need it to be different. wireless - Bluetooth is really good on these cans. I love being able to walk around the house and not worry about dropouts.

They are great headphones! The WH-1000XM5 have quite the exceptional sound quality. It’s as if I’m in the very room whatever I’m listening to is recorded. It has an easy set up and the look and feel of the headphones are top notch. They are comfortable and fit snuggly in your ears. The application it comes with helps you set up the headphones to you deep off and unique needs. Battery life is outstanding , I use it most of the day and only need to charge it once or twice a week. Recommending the headphones is a no-brainer. If your looking for quality headphones that will last your for years, then this is your choice. It’s a must!

Excellent product. Sound quality and noise cancelling features are great. Sits comfortably on the ears. Keeps charge for a while. I do wish they were a little louder though.

Sony - WH1000XM5 Wireless Noise-Canceling Are excellent. The sound is amazing. I’ve had them for ver a year without any problems. This is actually my second pair. The Sony WH1000XM4 headphones being my first ones (I gave to my sister and she loves them too). The Blue is Fabulous. They are light and comfortable I often forget I have them on. The App for the Sony Headphones is great to use with both models. It’s an all around cool experience!

If you can stomach the price, they sound great and the wireless connection is quite good. (Not AS convenient as other headphones; if you use the LDAC codec you can't use multipoint connections.) They sound just a bit cleaner than the XM4 but lose some of the bass punch. I prefer my Shure Aonic 50s for listening to music, but these are still great. The carrying case is also notably bulkier than the XM4s, as these don't fold in on themselves. They look fairly cool, and are pretty comfortable for hours on end, but - especially since it has touch controls - the black finish collects fingerprint oil very fast (seems the silver has a different texture/feel and doesn't have that problem). Fast charging, good battery life, decently low latency despite not being Apt-X-LL. They do actually perform great as headphones for phone calls, vastly better than others I've tried. No one has yet said anything negative about the call quality. The carrying case is bulkier than the XM4.
