Pretty good product, okay Sony customer service

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*ANC is great *situational ANC/pass through feature is nice to have *sound quality is pretty good even after playing with the EQ but not totally immersive *build quality is great - though I am pretty careful about the headband, it doesn't inspire rugged confidence. soft goods feel soft and compliant *excellent battery life and battery charge rate *being able to connect to my phone and PC and having it seamlessly transition based on use case is amazing *had an issue with the XM5 randomly turning off, used it for about 400 hours total - spoke to Sony CS 3 times over 4 months and they only suggested factory resets if I hadn't already updated my firmware. On the third time they decided to do a warranty replacement on my XM5 - it took 2+ weeks total for a replacement because they sent me the wrong color on the first replacement.

My favorite headphones!

Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used these headphones for the past 2.5 years heavily, in the gym, at work on the go, in the office, studying, relaxing at home, and long commutes. The battery is still kicking butt, and the noise canceling/ambient feature is great for my everyday needs. It’s comfortable over the ear, I can wear it for long periods of time with my glasses on. I bought it on sale during black Friday, but I honestly would buy these again in a heartbeat if mine kick the bucket down the road, it’s definitely worth it for my everyday needs. I recently bought myself a different set of headphones for the gym to be rougher on, (the Sony definitely held up in the gym but I just want to stretch the life longer) I noticed the quality compared to the Sony and the sony feels right with the features you get and worth what youre paying for. My all time favorite headphones!

Messing around with the EQ and other features on the Headphones Sony app truly makes the product unique such as placing your palm on the right outer headphone surface to activate the 6 mics around the headphones to activate the attention mode to hear your surroundings or the fact that there arent any buttons for replaying the previous song or going to the next or even volume up and down...its all on that same touch sensitive outer surface of the headphone and it amazes me how well it works. Theres even the feature that pauses the music automatically when you start speaking (can be toggles on/off in settings). Not to mention the battery, it charges for like 10 minutes to get about 3 hours of play time.

Not worth moving up from the 4s. To me they were ok upgrading from the 3s but still the 4s the better price if you don’t want the best out of the lineup/more compact.

Use them everyday when I go for runs don’t hurt on the head feel light and great sound. Noise cancellation is amazing only downside is the ear muffs fold up when you have the headphones around your neck, personal preference to have them fold down but overall 10/10.

I clean houses for a living and this thing is a blessing to have to keep myself entertained. My only issue with it is that the right ear cup is a little too sensitive to touch controls. You can try and take it off your head and accidentally skip your song or video. It also detects whether it is on your head to stop and start. This only becomes an issue when you're sweaty and want to put your headphones around your leg for storage. If you wrap them on an arm or a leg, it will continue the video you are watching, so be careful there. Very minimal issues overall, these headphones are great.

I had 3 generations of this one. I love the improvements from each. things to consider are the connectivity to multiple devices is not as seamless as I would want it to be. it is still pretty good but I think they can improve that for next gen. sound is amazing. every time I put it on I am amazed. I use it for gaming, music, and streaming movies. no audio lag when in bluetooth even when playing fps shooters like warzone.

Ive worn these things for atleast 4-5 in a single sitting and they were comfythe whole time. Great to throw on before doing some chores. I Probbaly wouldnt want to work out in them just so i keep them nice and i think the instructions say to not overly sweat with them on but otherwise they are the perfect headphone. Impecible sound quality and the noise cancelling is no joke best in its class. Works amazing for talking on the phone. Blah blah stop thinking about it and just buy the headphones.

Only problem for me is that it does not clamp hard enough especially when laying down. Sometimes the earcup will tilt and ruin the seal for the anc. Other than that, great sound, super light, good battery. Used on a plane and was really nice on it. Worth the price? Debatable.

Perfect for my needs

Love the Ambient Sound Control and location detection with the app, I can noice cancel at home but still hear my coworkers at the office if I want. Also, the battery lasts FOREVER! I can easily go an entire week of using them and not have to charge them until the weekend.
