Broke after 7Mo and Sony says it’s normal

I’m a Developer in my mid 40’s with Autism so I wore them all the time. I was meticulous with how I cared for them as I do with all my things but especially my precious headphones. They broke at the joint where the cup meets the headband for no reason. By that I mean I wasn’t stretching them, laying in them, I didn’t drop them, smash them I just picked them up off the desk and the cup dangled. They still work. But here’s the best part. My “warranty” would be considered manufacturer because it’s been less than a year and Sony says they don’t cover “cosmetic defects as a result of normal wear” is that so!? So that’s normal?? Then they told me it’s because I did something which I did not. I have $20 Amazon headphones for 3-4 years give me a break. Then the Sony rep said “they are not designed to last very long we can give you a one time $50 discount on a new pair” What a joke!! You can buy them if you can afford what others have called poor craftsmanship because this plastic is cheap crap! And because of how Sony treated me I have wanted to let everyone everywhere know what you are getting into with this product and company. I was loyal for years now never again will they get a penny of my money. 7 months you guys! 7 months!! But that sound awesome for the time

Only complaint is that it isnt completely sweat proof. However, i hit the gym 3-5x a week with low-medium sweat, and i havent had any issues. Every now and then, i pat dry the ear muffs in the bathroom but thats worth the little effort needed to sustain these bad boys. Mic quality is phenomenal. Battery life is great. Features including ANC are unique and very useful for day-to-day users. 10/10 purchase.

Not for small heads

It slides off when I bow my head down. And when wearing it for a long time, it kinda hurts the top of my head where it touches the headband, even though it's padded. Other than those, I don't have any complain.

The WH-1000XM5 are beautifully finished in newly developed soft fit leather. This material fits snugly around the head with less pressure on the ears while keeping out external sounds. You may try adjusting the headband slider so that they cover your ears and have more personalized comfort. You may also find the following article helpful:

They sit on my head snug and the ear cups are some of the most comfortable I have used yet. Overall sound quality and noise canceling is next level. I’ll be interested to see just how sony is going to try to improve to the 6’s

For long flights, the lightness of these headphones is great. While not as impressive as Sony's flagship earbuds, these headphones are still a good product. Highly recommend for travel.

Best noise cancellation headphones

Sony finally toned down the muddy bass and allowed a good sound signature to come out. Still needed to EQ to make them a bit brighter but fantastic headphones. I use them for 6+ hours at a time with no discomfort. Battery life is crazy good and they charge VERY fast. Connection to two devices works great (iPad and iPhone here). The noise cancellation is the strongest I’ve used on any headphones and it doesn’t create any pressure on my head. Very happy with my purchase.

I have been contemplating buying these for a while and was waiting for a sale to purchase it. I got tired of using my airpods and they would pop out of my ears quite often. It can cancel people talking right behind you. The quality of sound is amazing and also includes the cable to connect them when you don't have battery. Normally I used them 2 days without charge them. it is important ajust them well in your head and ears to help the noise cancelling
