They block out so much and helps me concentrate when I’m listening to online lectures. When I listen to my music in my free time, I can jam out with the base and be in my own world.

They are totally worth the cost. They fit comfortably over my ears and don’t press in a way the other ones do, which caused ear pain and headaches.

BUT once set up, excellent sound quality, incoming/outgoing call clarity, and noise cancellation was also fairly solid. Would I pay this price again for them? Probably not. But they are the best quality headphones I've ever had.

However, I am open to considering an upgrade that offers improved sound quality, comfort for my inner ears, reduced latency, and enhanced Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) capabilities. The positive aspects of these headphones include their excellent sound quality, exceptional microphone performance, and the ability to discern individual instruments with focused attention. However, a potential drawback is the occurrence of interference in the right speaker when used in an office environment downtown, particularly in areas with high levels of electrical signals or frequent rainfall. Overall, I would recommend these headphones as a reliable choice for individuals who do not anticipate using them in environments with significant electrical interference or heavy rainfall.

The cusp on the ears don’t suction to my ears at all, they’re a very lightweight pair of headphones. Some may like that but I personally didn’t like how it made the overall quality of the headphone feel. With the sound, I like how you can tune your own audio settings and really personalize your music. As for the noise cancellation, it’s not the best but it’s not the worst. I can still hear myself talking slightly when the volume is all the way up and I don’t like that. I want to be able to zero in and focus with no outer distractions. For the price these headphones did not impress me, I returned these. If you’re gonna spend over $300 on a pair of headphones, I opted for the apple air max headphones.

It has great noise canceling feature. I think that Bose does a good job in that aspect, i jut don't think you should completely not hear the outside noise for safety reasons. So with that Sony does it just right with noise canceling.

Noise canceling is incredible on these and i actually use the passthrough ambient mode several times a day

AirPods work great for business calls and mobility, AirPod Pros are fantastic for audiophiles, noise cancellation. AirPod Max is where it changes for me - the sound is very tinny and artificially boosted. This, combined with the silly case needed for on/off function, the weight and less battery life had me looking elsewhere for a proper over-the-ear headphone. Enter the WH-1000XM5. The Sony App allows for endless customization of sound which lets me tailor my audio experience for the sound I am looking for. This makes me feel better about my experience and the sound is more accurate. Some of the "smart" gps options for sound and noise cancellation are gimmicky and I don't bother with them. Just a tip - the black has a very smooth black finish that shows greasy fingers. I exchanged them for this silver which has a grittier matte finish and doesn't show fingerprints.
