Sony Does In-fact HAve Best in Class ANC

My primary use for these is actually work as i work from home with our two young kids who like to scream and be loud constantly. They really improve my focus with their best in class noise cancellation.

The noise cancelation and transparency mode is so good. It's so comfy, like a pillow is wrapped around ur head, sometimes I forget its on my head from how comfortable it is.

After a year they are still amazing. The noise cancellation is amazing when I’m traveling and don’t want to listen to the environment around me. The only downside to these headphones is the headband. There isn’t much cushioning to it which results in discomfort after wearing the headphones after a while. I have to readjust the headphones frequently if I wear them for long periods of times because the headband feels like it is starting to dig into my head. Besides the headband issue the headphones are amazing and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is willing to pay the price and deal with the headband issue.

The sound quality is excellent. I tried the Bose competitor and the Sony headphones had noticeably better sound quality. With the noise cancelling on I feel like I'm somewhere else. The touch controls are so easy to use and very convenient. The cover-to-hear feature is great. It lets you hear someone while also providing a social que that you are busy, to keep conversations short.

My husband's an over the road truck driver and he swears by these things. Doesn't feel heavy on his head after several hours of wear and doesn't put a lot of pressure on his head, as compared to the Apple headphones.

The little friction pads for the Headband fell off after about a year but it doesn't affect the noise at all. A little expensive but definitely worth it for headphone enthusiasts

The black ones do collect grease from your skin and hair pretty easily, go with the silver ones if you have a choice.

Im no audiophile, so my experience is of an average user who enjoys music in the office, mostly to drown out the office noise. When the noise cancelling works, its better than the XM4. The important word there was "when". You can control the level of noise cancelling, it's either on or off (then A.I. handles strength based on environmental sound). Whereas, on the XM4, you can set the strength of cancelling. I understand there are reasons for getting rid of that feature; like, battery life... however, now you've got a hit or miss feature. My office isnt too loud. But, its just quiet enough not to activate the noise cancelling and just loud enough that i can actually make out what they're saying. Never a problem with the XM4.
