I think ability to use an aux adapter the device should be on every headphone device,

We are so glad to hear that the WH-1000XM5 is "dope" and that the noise cancellation is hitting the mark for you!
That muting issue is actually a feature called Speak-to-Chat, and you can easily turn it off so it doesn't irritate you. To disable it without even opening the app, just hold two fingers to the right ear cup touch sensor until you hear the voice guidance say, "Speak-to-chat deactivated." Now you can sing or talk along without the audio pausing!
Also, we agree on the importance of wired options—that’s why we include a 3.5mm headphone jack and a cable in the box, so you can keep listening even if the battery runs out or you're using a device without Bluetooth.

Which is a key feature for me the AirPods are to heavy to wear for long periods of time

Wonderful Noise Cancelling Headphones!

They feel light and you forget that they're on your head after a while. The noise cancelling works great and I mainly bought them for traveling, but I use them at home when it's late at night.

The noise cancellation works great, not a lot of bass. They don’t get really loud, good quality sound but not noticeable difference between other brands in my opinion. Overall really good and most comfortable headphones in that size class.

Great headphones! If you aren’t near an antenna

Super lightweight, great noise cancellation, and solid price for what you get. Unfortunately, my job is near an antenna and due to this, I am picking up a rock radio station. I believe this may be due to lower quality components in the headphones which is disappointing. I can turn in my office chair and the clarity adjusts from the radio station. It really is disappointing because I purchased these headphones because I heard such positive reviews about the noise cancellation. I can’t listen to music or block out noise without hearing,” Every rose has its thorn” in my right ear. I’m sure anyone who is not working or living by an antenna can benefit from these great headphones. However, due to (assumingely) lower quality parts and the inability to even use the features it’s meant to offer; I cannot recommend this product. Just to add, I have used other headphones from different brands and no issues similar to this. I have tried resetting it to factory and no changes.

If the effect of noise canceling is not sufficient, please try the following:
Make sure the noise canceling function is turned on.
Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions.
To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.
