The noise-cancelling feature isn't as strong as I expected when not playing music, but still very nice. They are pretty comfortable wearing for longer periods of time (gaming, on a plane, etc.), but the headband part can get a bit uncomfortable if you have them shortened to exactly fit your head. For those blessed with a larger than average head like me, I suggest leaving a little loose. The sound quality is stellar and the mic works very well. Incredibly please with them!

The battery Life is rediculous I can go weeks with out a recharge. if your on the fence for a great headset just get these. Also movie watching is so good with these.

Big problems with these tho, they randomly disconnect and the touch controls stop working randomly. Not at all acceptble even remotely considering the price range. Sadly im returning. The sony headpones app is a blessing. You got like 5 different sound equlizer presets and its really nice with optjons to turn off touch controls. The noise cancelling and transparency mode are a godsend. But for 439 after tax and one day delivery I expect sealess bluetooth functionality and consistency. If u wanna try these go for it, you mite love these like i did on my first day. Also dont get black they leave fingerprints everytime but no biggi.

While we're happy that you like the great sound and you're utilizing the built-in equalizer on the Sony Headphones Connect app, we're sorry to hear you're experiencing intermittent audio and the touch sensor control panel does not respond correctly. Multiple Wi-Fi devices, microwave ovens, cordless phones, or devices that transmit 2.4 GHz band frequency radio waves can cause the sound to cut out. To improve transmission, set the headphones to prioritize on stable connection (via Sony Headphones Connect app) and see if it resolves the problem.
When you wear the headset over a cap, cloth, a scarf, hair, etc., wearing detection may not work properly, and the touch sensor control panel may not be available for operation. Wear the headset so that your ears are inside the earpads. We also recommend to clear the touch sensor so that you can tap the touch sensor directly. If the touch sensor control panel does not respond correctly, you may also find this link helpful: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wh1000xm5/v1/en/contents/TP1000534701.html
If the problem continues on the WH-1000XM5 headphones, please make sure that your headphones are running on the latest firmware version. The way it cancels background noise while on phone calls is unbelievable. The battery life lasts forever. I honestly forget that it has a battery. I barely ever charge it.

I really like the newer shade of white that they used. BUT I already own a pair of the XM3s and after doing a side by side comparison, I decided that these aren't worth the upgrade unless you have the money to spend the XM3 and XM4 are still very usable ANC headphones and debatably have "better" sound if you're more of the average user and like more bass in your music. If you want more of an accurate representation of what the artist intended then these are much closer but that might not be the sound that you're looking for. Giving these 5 stars because they deserve it. But for me it's just not worth the upgrade.

Great but Pricey

Pricey for what it is. Not to say it wasn't good, as I think the sound on these and the features like voice recognition to disable noise cancelling and the microphone quality on call definitely improved. I just don't know if these improved features coming from an xm3 earbud user is worth the extra $250-300 price hike. I liked them. They were light and surprisingly cool as I'm very active in the workplace.. but they just weren't worth the price for me personally.

New to over the ear headphones

I thought about saving money and going with the cheaper headset, but I'm glad I spent the extra money on these headphones! The ambient sound is crazy. I didn't realize the headphones were on my ears when it was active. The noise canceling is excellent. Connection to Bluetooth was super easy. Comfort seemed good, since I've never had over the ear headphones. Never ran the battery passed 30 hrs of playback so I believe the battery time is awesome.

Excellent Headphones!

I have used other brands of noise canceling headphones in the past but I liked the design and once I opened the box and used the app and started listening to them I was very satisfied with the ease of use, how the app allowed me to customize, ease of connectivity. I recently used them on one of many trips to Europe and they were comfortable to wear for many hours and the noise canceling worked perfect when I was not listing to music or a movie. The case was slightly larger then what I had expected but overall I am impressed with these and would recommend them to others.

Previously had the ear buds xm4 and was a fan so I decided to get these as well and I am incredibly surprised with the quality of sound coming from these. Definitely the best headphone sive owned. The batter life alone is amazing and lasts me multiple days on the same charge. Has a very long range and I can leave my phone anywhere in th house and continue my conversations.

Sound amazing, lightweight, however... it comes with its problems. For one, you cannot use it while charging, you need to download the app and change annoying settings like the headphones turning off if you lift one of the ears up, touch controls you have to disable in the app and also if your hair lays over the touch controls good luck with that. You'll want to change the EQ from standard or make your own with their guide. 8/10 headphones all around. 9/10 sound quality 7/10 build quality/design

The headphones work great and he said the noise canceling is awesome! The zipper on the case broke right away…it’s almost as if the zipper was put on the inside. Hoping to reach out and get a new case for them.
