My first high end headphones, and I am already impressed by the sound it delivers while listening to music or watching movies. Since I have several Apple products, I was initially considering the AirPods Max, but it didn’t justify the price difference with these Sony headphones. I can’t compare both since there was no AirPods Max on display at the Best Buy store. Noise canceling is top notch on these Sony XM5 headphones, just used it on a 16-hr flight and I could barely hear any aircraft noise while watching For All Mankind episodes on my iPhone. Bass are good but not too much, dialogues are clear. Battery is very good, after watching 4 episodes and listening music for couple hours, I still had around 80% battery left. I also used the headphones for work with Teams on a Windows laptop. Easily paired with the laptop, and can be switched between laptop and iPhone without any problem. I have also been told my voice is very clear when I talk on Teams meeting.

They are great headphones! The WH-1000XM5 have quite the exceptional sound quality. It’s as if I’m in the very room whatever I’m listening to is recorded. It has an easy set up and the look and feel of the headphones are top notch. They are comfortable and fit snuggly in your ears. The application it comes with helps you set up the headphones to you deep off and unique needs. Battery life is outstanding , I use it most of the day and only need to charge it once or twice a week. Recommending the headphones is a no-brainer. If your looking for quality headphones that will last your for years, then this is your choice. It’s a must!

Excellent product. Sound quality and noise cancelling features are great. Sits comfortably on the ears. Keeps charge for a while. I do wish they were a little louder though.

Oh my.... These are the best pair of wireless headphones I've owned. I was daily driving the wf-1000xm4 ear buds. But my ears get fatigued pretty easily. I decided I would get a pair of headphones to switch it up. Since I liked the features that came with the Sony xm4 ear buds, I thought I'd give the WH-1000xm5 a try. I've only had it for less than a week but I have become obsessed with them to the point where I spend most of my day wearing them. Sound quality is pretty nice, The ANC works nicely, The touch features are pretty cool, and The battery lasts ridiculously long. So as far as cons go, I can say that The touch feature can get annoying if you're just adjusting the headset. It doesn't annoy me too much but if it did the touch feature can always be turned off with the app. Other issues I have are software related, which are not deal breakers when considering the overwhelming positives.

These headphones are really nice, i can’t compare them to others bc i usually have airpods. I would say the noise cancellation is high quality, and they are also comfortable, i do feel a bit of a headache if i leave them on for too long bc they are a little heavy. Recently it has been turning off my sound cancelling which was really annoying but it’s a click of a button to fix and maybe i have something in the settings that makes it do that. I’d recommend them but only if ur willing to spend the hefty $400+tax price. The sound is amazing, and you can get the app which allows you to change how you hear the music, more bass etc.. but listening to the 4’s in store they sound similar, the 5’s are just a bit crisper and i like the look of them more. Also I have charged them once in like mid sept (posting 10/6) and the battery is amazing i think i’m at 40%. the case is a little bulky but i don’t mind bc it still fits in my bag

I bought these a couple of months ago and I overall really like them! They have exccelent noise cancelling and great connectivity. The music and shows I listen to are always really clear. Battery life is also excellent. *** However, the band can get pretty uncomfortable after using for a couple hours, and I don’t love that they can’t fold.

By far the best sounding headphones I’ve ever owned, listen to your favorite song and there’ll be instruments and subtle sounds you never noticed before. The battery lasts for days and days. Microphones are excellent for calls. The lack of lag is magical on wireless headphones, similiar to Logitech’s lightspeed headphones but without a big extruding usb dongle. The materials are so soft and comfortable. The noise cancelling is unmatched. They’re expensive but you get what you pay for on every level, these are the best consumer headphones money can buy and the last pair you’ll ever need to buy.

As a student, being able to have a nice and quiet environment to work in is crucial to my studies, and with the XM5's I can turn virtually any environment into just that. I have taken these headphones to school every day, including track meets and long bus rides, and I can vouch that these are super comfortable. No matter where I go, as long as I have even a little bit of volume on my music, I can not hear the background. I even use these as home since they are just so comfortable. I would say that they are on the pricy side, so it might not be the best choice for everyone. All in all, these headphones are great, and I don't regret getting them at all, I use them every single day, and I love the audio quality.

Picked these up on sale to replace my old xm3s, I like these so much better. On/off detection is my favorite feature upgrade going from the 3s to the 5s, definitely saves on battery life for my forgetful self. They are also much lighter and more comfortable when wearing for long periods. I gave them a nice 12 hour trial run right after getting them and was plesently surprised how little ear fatigue I had. After wearing the xm3s that long I'd start twitching above the ear, nothing like that with the 5s. They're really good at switching between devices. I switch between my phone (android), iPad, and laptop (windows) quite a bit and haven't had to manually toggle the connection at all so far. I wish it was a little more visually clear which side is left vs right. They are labeled, but it's kinda hard to see in low light and I can never remember which side the power button goes on and always seem to miss it when I'm feeling for it to put them on.

Phenomenal headphones, ANC, noise isolation, pass through mode, comfort, battery life. These headphones are worth it

Absolutely worth it! I bought these headphones to help me study in working spaces and for working out. They block out noise really well and the battery life is seemingly everlasting. The charge time to full power is super quick as well. I can wear these headphones for hours at a time without feeling uncomfortable. The touch functions on the side of the right earphone are easy to use, and it's really helpful to be able to switch between transparency mode and noise-cancelling mode with a touch of a button on the headphones too. The noise quality is great as well.

This is after using a few times. These are the best headphones I've used, but the last headphones I had were the first Beats Solo in 2009 then I had a Razer gaming headset. It's very comfortable and light. Sound quality is wonderful, good bass and clear audio. It's one of the most stylish headphones, Sony has nailed the minimalistic design. The versatility is great from using wirelessly or wired with different devices whether it's for gaming, music, movies and surfing the web. Wished I was able to wear it to the gym. If you can afford it, stop thinking about it and just get it.

I use the XM5 for both my Windows Laptop and iPhone. It's amazing! The fact these headphones have 30 hours' worth of battery life, and customizable EQ settings (they only apply to my iPhone) make this worth my $400. Yes you can use the XM5 with Windows. I have not experienced any audio/visual delay during use. You can configure the headphone properties in Sound settings, and enable bass boost if you like. From what I can hear, the EQ settings I configure with the Sony Headphones only apply to my phone, not my laptop. Nonetheless, if you set them right, you can make one of the best listening experiences possible. For loud work (i.e. vacuuming the house), they do an excellent job cancelling noise. The case is stylish and easy to use. Unfortunately these headphones don't fold like their predecessor. Overall, this product is awesome. I'm glad I bought it.

The battery life is excellent and they sound amazing! The bass really rattles the brain and keeps external noise at bay. The headset is adjustable and is comfortable. I recommend these for audiophiles!

In a word - Wow. Love these headphones. My criteria for selecting headphones was Quality of sound (Crisp highs and powerful clean bass) Comfort and Noise canceling. The XM5 delivered all three. If I had any wish, it would be to figure out how to keep from getting warm after extended use. So pleasantly surprised at how light they are and to deliver such rich sound. Second surprise was the simple but effective controls. Finally the quality of the noise cancelling was amazing. I can sit in the living room with my wife watch her show while I listen to music or watch my own movie and never hear anything but what I am supposed to. They are pricey but if you are particular, they are worth it.
