Previously I was using the Bose QC 35s and like these a bit better. Noise canceling is top notch, music is bassy where it needs to be and treble comes through when it does. Battery life is solid. I use mine all day for meetings and listening to spotify and I charge it once every other day or so. Out of the Bose QC line up and the Apple Airpod Pro Maxes this is my favorite, though all three are solid.

Noise cancelling is very good. I typically use these for workouts and it drowns out the noise of a busy after-work gym. User friendly, I love the swiping controls on the ear for volume and skipping tracks, and the headphones fit very comofortably over the ear. Sound quality is phenomenal. Great headphones for a variety of situations.

Lightweight and a joy to listen to for hours

But when I listened to them, they felt artificially boosted and somewhat tinny sounding. This is where the Sony's shined and ultimately won me over. The sound is natural, even, clean and crisp. And if you're looking for a little extra, the iOS Headphones Connect app works brilliantly for fine-tuning the sound. I listened to these headphones for 2 weeks and hardly used 40% of battery. They're lightweight, great to talk on the phone with and a joy to use. You won't regret this!

Go too travel headphones for roadtrips and working out. Great battery life, light weight, and always feel secure on my head. Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this for work to eliminate noise. anc is really good. notice to less tech savvy people that the headphones has a default feature that it cuts off the music when someone is talking to you so you can hear them. it is a feature though i believe that it should not be on by default, i cannot penalize them for that. also i guess another downside is to turn off that feature, the app is required to be downloaded. for the pros, lighter than a bose qc35. not sure about the new ones. long battery life. comfortable to wear.

Good clarity in the bass and clean tones overall. Noise canceling works well. Really enjoy the touch pad for controlling music etc. Two buttons makes it easy to use but still have lots of control over what I want. The app is great, I usually dislike these things however it's easy to use and super customizable but not too much. Great bang for your buck.

While these are certainly priced at a premium, the sound quality rivals headsets priced significantly more. The app helps to optimize its feature set. Though the fit and finish is quite good and lends to a comfortable, light-weight design, it doesn't look and feel as premium as a headset of this caliber should. While music sounds very good, the headset is really not suited for gaming, those looking for a one and done approach will not find it here in my opinion.

Several reasons why I like them: 1) Fantastic sound 2) Great NC 3) Comfortable 4) Long battery 5) Easy to use app with EQ features 5) Responsive and intuitive hand gestures on the right side 6) Cool features like stopping music when you speak 7) Nice quality case (albeit a bulky one) 8) Great microphone Things that could improve: 1) Can’t connect to Apple multi headphone feature, hopefully they get Apple to include them in the future 2) More compatible 360 audio; their spatial audio is limited to certain apps 3) Bulky case 4) I sometimes have issues with Windows, specifically with Teams

The noise cancelling is fantastic. The sound is amazing once you get the EQ dialed-in. And they're comfortable! My only minor gripes are the blue color doesn't totally match what's in the product images or packing. It's more of a navy blue than midnight blue. Also, it would be nice if these folded up smaller. Since they don't fold and I only feel safe transporting them in their carrying case, they are bulky in my bag when I'm on the go.

This is a consistent issue across different products/brands, even high-quality ones such as this, and I was hoping given the price point it would be a seamless process but unfortunately it's not. Regardless, I'm happy with the level of comfort, the noise cancellation, and especially the battery life. If money wasn't an option, I'd consider investing more in an even higher-quality brand that's more compatible with my Apple devices; but with this being over $150 more affordable than AirPods Max, I would still recommend this product.

Even the case is made of high quality material, lightweight and durable. Very comfortable to wear for extended periods (use them for work 6-9h a day). ANC is the best out there in this price range. Audio quality is great with a bit of eq customization. Battery life is as amazing, even with ANC. I've had Bose, previous versions of the XMs, Sennheiser, and Audio Technica. Overall these are the best headphones I've ever owned!

I really like like the ambient mode that lets outside sound in, and how easy it is to toggle it on and off. The multi pair works pretty good for the most part. I also like that it detects when you are not wearing them and auto shuts down after a few minutes to save battery. The batter life is also really great. My only real complaint is that they show finger smudges pretty bad. But I can live with that.

Amazing battery, sound quality, touch controls, fast charging, comfortable, good app, noise cancelling is generally very good (not as good as airpods max though). The build is very light and finish very buttery soft plastic. It can feel a bit “cheap” though. The out of the box sound profile is god awful. Who chose it i have no idea. Download the app and set up the EQ to your liking. Google good EQs if you need help, it dramatically helps sound quality. Definitely wait until there is a sale though. Not worth the full retail price

The Best Are Somehow Even Better Now

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fit and Style - These are pretty comfortable but not as comfortable as the XM4 or the Bose QC35. For me the slight discomfort comes from the thin top head band. For me it doesn't distribute the weight of the headphones very well, so after a few hours of wearing them it can get someone uncomfortable. I think these look very nice but ore importantly the materials used feel a lot nicer than the XM4 or the new Bose 700s. Sound - They sound almost identical to the XM4. The average joe would find it hard to differentiate these from the Xm4s but it is not like the Xm4 weren't already the best sound headset. The EQ in the app is awesome you can customize the sound exactly the way you want. The Bose do not come close, The Bose 700s are very flat and the App doesn't let you change it very much. The noise cancelling on these headphones is a massive improvement over the Xm4 which were already the best Noise cancelling headphones. I noticed with these they are more consistent with the noises they block out. Battery Life - The 30 hours seems accurate and for my use case that extra 10 hours over the Bose 700s makes a huge difference for convenience of having to worry about plugging these in all the time. The Bose 700s for me didn't come close to the 20 hours battery life, it often felt more like 15 hours and I was having to plug them in every couple days. App - The Sony app stands alone when compared to all other brands. As mentioned above you can EQ the sound exactly the way you want. As well as being able to set your settings for locations, so for the Gym you can boost the Bass and for work you can turn on Speak to Hear option which turns on ambient noise when you speak. The dual bluetooth is very easy and convenient to use and switch between, I wish for one day to have simultaneous playback with both bluetooth connections. Overall - I loved my XM2 and then the XM4 were amazing but different seem like enough of an upgrade to warrant keeping the XM4 over my XM2. But the XM5 feel like an upgrade in every possible way, I get better range with and the Noise cancelling is significantly better at blocking out more noises. If you have the older Xm headphones you have to upgrade to these, they are amazing. If you were looking at the Bose 700s please do yourself a favor and avoid those, they are noticeably worse than the Sonys in every measurable way. The Bose 700s have worse battery life, worse sound, worse app, and worse noise cancelling.

The battery got messed up so I got the AirPods Max and when the XM5s came out, I figured to give them a shot. They are a good upgrade, they sound good in most to all music genres, but personally I EQ them to sound more neutral because the Sony line always have a bass-heavy sound profile. These are not as muddy and overwhelming though. The new added features are a welcome upgrade, and they are very comfortable. I’m already used to having non collapsible ear-cups, so it’s not the end of the world. They sound good, have tons of features, and have an attractive new design. They are good and a keeper for traveling.
