The clear choice in noise cancelling headphones

I can’t believe how the headphones make spatial audio selections sound. Noise cancelling is superb along connectivity. So pleased with this product.

Every so often they will have trouble pairing or switch to active listening mode. But it's not been to much of an issue. Overall a great pair of headphones with exceptional sound quality.

Poorly designed noise cancelling feature

Basically, depending on the environment, how you move your head, or how you are wearing these headphones, you will HEAR the noise cancelling change completely. You will randomly hear it become less strong or more strong, etc… it does this seemingly at random. This is extremely annoying and this feature cannot be turned off, it ruins these headphones for me personally.

We are very sorry to hear about your frustration with the noise-canceling performance of your WH-1000XM5 headphones. What you are describing sounds like the Adaptive Sound Control or Speak-to-Chat features, which can be adjusted or disabled.
We recommend opening the "Sony | Headphones Connect" app and turning off Adaptive Sound Control on the Status tab. Additionally, please ensure Speak-to-Chat is disabled in the Sound tab, as this can also cause the audio to shift when it detects movement or speech. While the Auto NC Optimizer adjusts to your environment, disabling these specific settings usually provides the consistent experience you are looking for.

You will not feel you are wearing it. The bad things are its technology feature. It says it will detect when you take them off and auto stop music. This is a hit or miss. When it does not work, it is very frustrating. I believe Sony is getting that perfect headphone. However, this is not it.

But eventually moisture gets in and causes an annoying static. It can be fixed by removing the earcup and putting a silica packet inside, but that seems a little ridiculous for a pair of headphones as pricey as these. My first pair last about 8 months before this happened - my warranty replacement pair lasted about 2 weeks. From what I’ve read, this problem is rather common.

If you use the headset when the air is dry, you may experience discomfort due to static electricity accumulated on your body. This is not a malfunction of the headset. You can reduce the effect by wearing clothes made of natural materials that do not easily generate static electricity. You can check this link for more details:

Not gym friendly as I sweat profusely around my ears due to the material also when doing any sort of upper weight movement the music basically pauses each rep not sure if I can change that setting
