Wasnt as great as i hoped…

While the sound quality is good and the noise cancellation is solid, the overall comfort and usability fell short for me. The new design looks sleek, but the headphones feel awkward after extended use — the headband padding isn’t as comfortable as expected, and the ear cups felt a bit too snug. Also, for a premium product, the touch controls can be overly sensitive and frustrating to use. Battery life is decent, but nothing groundbreaking compared to older models. Honestly, I preferred the XM4s in terms of comfort and value. For the price, I just expected a more refined experience. These might work for some, but they didn’t meet my expectations.

Headband uncomfortable

But as far as comfort goes, I have to remove a star due to the headband. I find myself constantly readjusting the headphone because it hurts my head. I shouldn't have to do that with something that's meant to be worn for hours at a time.

Super comfortable especially for people who wear glasses, they stay put and don't move, fit really well on my small head, the noise cancelling is really nice too, and battery power is insane haven't charged them in days

My favorite headphones!

The battery is still kicking butt, and the noise canceling/ambient feature is great for my everyday needs. It’s comfortable over the ear, I can wear it for long periods of time with my glasses on. I bought it on sale during black Friday, but I honestly would buy these again in a heartbeat if mine kick the bucket down the road, it’s definitely worth it for my everyday needs. I recently bought myself a different set of headphones for the gym to be rougher on, (the Sony definitely held up in the gym but I just want to stretch the life longer) I noticed the quality compared to the Sony and the sony feels right with the features you get and worth what youre paying for. My all time favorite headphones!

Great for flying

We’re perfect for blocking out extra sound during long flights. Overall ease of connectivity could be better. The touch pad on R ear piece is overly sensitive and reacts to the smallest of bumps or taps on any part of it.

Detailed soundstage superior noise cancelling.

I fell in love with my apple airpods for their noise cancelling, especially when flying, they were a lifesaver but on long flights they would run out of battery. After a little research I settled on these and am very happy. Excellent sound which is rich and detailed in subtle ways, too many headphones try to overcome poor sound quality with excessive bass. Good battery life and superior noise cancelling, I have not tried the mic feature yet.

As advertised but missing some big basic features

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I found the reviews to be a bit too thorough as if they are paid advertisements that only echo online reviews by compensated individuals. The absence of any quick start guide was frustrating since I didn't have great cell coverage at the time I unboxed the headphones. I didn't know about the controls on the side and the app does not offer any guide either. I am still left in a maze to navigate their website in and out of hyperlinks to figure out which button or surface space does what. For an extremely high price these headphones are less about quality sound and more about noise canceling. If you like great audio, these aren't the headphones for you as they muffle and distort the sound. In general, noise canceling does that so that isn't a complete surprise. An astonishing and ridiculous issue I have with these headphones is that you CANNOT USE THEM WHILE THEY CHARGE?! In this era of device demand, this is a shockingly ignorant choice on the part of Sony. I get it, they might think since wireless earbuds can't be used while charging then who needs to listen to their headphones while they charge? Or perhaps they prioritized a fast charge over listening. The problem with that comes when you quick charge devices over and over again for short periods of time ruining the battery performance. Sony is practically begging you to do that by discouraging you from being able to listen to them at the same time as fully charging them. Overall I appreciate being able to drown out a good amount of background noise but I am left questioning if that's really worth the $400 price tag. If you are looking for noise canceling, pick a pair of great sounding earbuds and skip the actual noise canceling feature, just purchase some flight line ear protection headphones for a much better comfort and outside noise control. You'll save yourself hundreds while having a much lighter pair of headphones that doesn't overheat your ears. Another disappointment of mine was the erroneous idea that connecting to two devices at the same time would mean I could actually listen to two inputs at the same time. Perhaps Bluetooth isn't there yet through no fault of Sony, but I also felt the advertising was misleading on this particular feature and the answer was buried in Bluetooth spec and tech sites and not disclosed on the Sony site. I like that my phone can interrupt my business meeting playing from my computer but I dislike that I cannot listen to ambient sound on Pandora while participating in a business meeting at the same time. Since the audio can't be independently adjusted in noise volume by your individually connected device, you are left with a ring tone set to the same volume as your YouTube video or conversely the YouTube video resumes as loudly as the call and that is mildly annoying.

Best noise cancelling headphones money can buy

They have their ups and downs. I'm going to talk in depth about each of these, but overall these are the best noise cancelling headphones money can buy, so even when it comes to their downsides, you can't do better. The sound quality is overall spectacular. Noise cancelling wise, these are the best money can buy. I've tried other noise cancelling headphones, and these destroy everything that I've ever tried. It's a night and day difference in terms of the overall quality and effectiveness of the noise cancelling compared to other noise cancelling headphones. These are your ultimate every day use headphones. If you're a normal consumer who doesn't care about audiophile grade stuff, these will absolutely blow your mind. Even if you're an audiophile, you'll probably end up addicted to them for every day normal use. I'm kindof addicted to them myself, to be honest.

Use them everyday when I go for runs don’t hurt on the head feel light and great sound. Noise cancellation is amazing only downside is the ear muffs fold up when you have the headphones around your neck, personal preference to have them fold down but overall 10/10.
