Sounds amazing and has really great noise cancellation. I really like the feel of these but since there is no water resistance I can’t help but wonder how long these will last before they start to deteriorate. People will always sweat with headphones on so it’s strange that they are no built for sweat-resistance. I also wish they were collapsible.

Easy to adjust. The touch controls are very responsive. When powered on and placed on ears, they immediately drown out the outside nose. The mics work perfectly when on conference calls for which I use for work. The audio quality is superb which you can adjust through the Sony app to make it sound the way you want. The price was a little steep but well worth It!

Inferior quality - expecting Sony to recall
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy these headphones "WH1000XM5", the physical quality of these headphones do not match the high price. I got the Sony - WH1000XM5 6 months ago and the sound quality was always great though the headphones themselves felt flimsy when compared to WH1000XM4. That is, up until recently when the plastic of the right swivel piece cracked and a piece fell off, rendering the headphones unusable. I would understand if this was due to rough handling, this was from normal use leading to the right swivel breaking and the right speaker being left dangling by the wire (please see the attached pictures). Many others who’ve purchased this product have had the exact same issue with the exact same piece, suggesting a definite manufacturing defect. But Sony refuses to either recall or cover the damages, despite the headphones being under warranty, just a simple google search "wh1000xm5 broken hinge issue" will show the exact same issue occurring all across the globe. When contacting customer support they simply referred me to a separate repair shop and said there was nothing they could do. All in all a terrible experience and would not purchase headphones from Sony again, you’re much better off purchasing from a brand such as Bose or Apple where the product is sturdy and they stand behind their products whether it is good or bad, providing ample and just customer support. Being a loyal Sony customer, purchasing everything from their Sound System, to TV's to Playstation, my expectation is that Sony, as a flagship product, needs to step up and do a recall. This will set the right brand image for Sony backing their reputation.

The sound is amazing, noise cancelling is pristine. There are so many different options to customise your listening. The finish on them pick up grease, that I consider just a teent annoyance but otherwise they're not too heavy, they're really comfortable. 10/10

The mic quality is also fantastic - it’s super clear and noise cancels anything youre doing (washing dishes, crinkling paper, etc). The battery life is amazing, you probably will only need to charge once or twice a week. Can’t recommend these enough, its miles better than the XM3 i had.

For the noise cancellation, ensure they've sealed well around your ears, otherwise it's not good as some other reviewers have noted. Overall the comfort is pretty good minus the top headband. With the new narrow design it concentrates the pressure, which I find rather uncomfortable, especially after long use. I would definitely recommend trying the fit before buying. Given there isn't a star rating for comfort and fit, I'd give that 3 stars due to the issues highlighted above.

While we are thrilled that you are satisfied with the amazing noise canceling and incredible sound quality of our WH-1000XM5, we are really sorry if you find the top headband of these headphones uncomfortable- especially when wearing for a long period of time. The WH-1000XM5 are beautifully finished in newly developed soft fit leather. This material fits snugly around the head with less pressure on the ears while keeping out external sounds. You may try adjusting the headband slider so that they cover your ears and have more personalized comfort. You may also find the following article helpful:
