Sony hasn’t worked out the connectivity problem

Active noise cancellation stopped from time to time without a reason not activated by my talking or anything. Watching a Netflix downloaded movie didn’t go smoothly either, the sound disappeared a few times without any apparent reason. The only way to get the sound back is to restart the movie. What is this?? This WH1000XM5 is going back to the store.

Regarding the ANC stopping intermittently, this could be related to the Adaptive Sound Control feature, which adjusts the noise cancellation based on your activity and location. You can try disabling this feature in the Sony Headphones Connect app under the Status Tab and manually setting the ANC level under the Sound Tab. For the sound issues while watching a Netflix movie, it might be helpful to ensure that your headphones' firmware is updated to the latest version, as updates can improve overall functionality. I thought it was my phone but I swapped it yesterday and still the same problem. Mine is obviously defective.

I got them just to use on airplanes. Then flew home on the 23rd. They didn't last me a week/one plane trip before the cheap plastic ear extender piece broke off while i was sleeping on the plane back home on may 23rd. I have reciepts & flight logs to prove all of this. Thank god i sorang fir the protection plan. I took the sony's back at the best buy in my home town and bought the bose QC ultra for 100 dollars more w/2 year plan as the ear connector part is made of metal. As soon as i put the bose on i felt the difference of sound quality & noise canceling. It was night & day compared to the sony. Dont make the same mistake i did, stay away from the sony, they are total trash.

High expectations but ultimately disappointing

Main problem (two different units tried) was that it was unable to maintain Bluetooth connection. Finally went back to Bose (700) and have had zero problems with sound and noise canceling exemplary.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.these headphones were so disappointing, and that makes me so sad because everyone hyped them up online. the ANC wasn’t the best, but pretty ok. it worked the best when you had your volume way up. the main reason i’m upset it that the second time i tried connecting these headphones to my phone, iphone 12 mini for refrence, they started making a terrible crackling and static sound and wouldn’t power on. i had only used them one time before for about ten minutes fresh out of the box with a full charge. i really thought that these headphones were supposed to be the best on the market :(

Does not work correctly on a PC with Windows

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this headset if you plan on using it with a PC because when you enable the hands free microphone in Windows, the sound quality becomes extremely tinny in quality to the point that it hurts your ears. The only way to fix this is to disable the hands free microphone in the device manager. Another issue that this headset allows you to connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time, but if you do this, then any video on your PC will constantly stop playing and the only way to address this issue is to disable this ability, or turn off the Bluetooth of the other device that is is attached to. When you enable the ability to connect to two Bluetooth devices, the headset is extremely sensitive to the location of the Bluetooth antenna on the PC and this results in intermittent disconnecting from the computer. Another issue is that the Bluetooth antenna on the headset is in the left ear cup so if your computer positioned on your right side, your Bluetooth connection will be intermittent. The only way to fix this is to either move your PC to left side, or move the PC Bluetooth antenna where it has a direct line of sight with the left ear of the headset. To get this headset to work with my PC, I had to disable the ability to connect to two devices at the same time, and then move my PC Bluetooth antenna to where the left ear phone was in visual sight of it, and I had to purchase a separate microphone for recording and chatting.

Headphones hurts your ears

These headphones design hurts my ears only after an hour of wearing them. The sound these put out sound hollow and artificial. If you're an average user and haven't tried cans Like Grado or Sennheiser......then you obviously have no idea what I'm even talking about when I talk about good sounding cans. I returned these the next day. I do have to say though that #1. Call quality is top notch & Sound cancellation is excellent........but doesn't meaning nothing to me if the music part is not up to par. For $400......these cans are WAYYYYYYY OVERPRICED for the average sound quality.
