We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the lightweight design and solid build of the WH-1000XM5. Since these are tuned for high-fidelity clarity, pushing the volume to the max can sometimes tax the drivers. To help with that distortion, you might try using the Manual EQ settings in the Sony | Headphones Connect app to slightly lower the lower-frequency sliders when listening at peak volumes.
