Sony refuses to fix known manufacturing defect

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After only four months of very light, careful use--the headphones were never dropped, mishandled, or transported outside of their case-- I picked up the headphones and to my dismay realized the hinge was broken and they were unusable. Sony refuses to cover this under warranty and wants me to pay to have them repaired. I am far from the only one who has had this experience. In contrast, my MX4s have lasted years. But I wouldn't recommend Sony at all, they don't stand behind their product.

Literally cancels all the noise around me perfect for flying, studying and everything in between. Superior To Everything Else I've Ever Used

They are so comfortable that I sometimes forget I even have them on. Sounds quality is top notch especially with custom EQ settings. Short and simple review just buy them you won't be disappointed.

Must have if yoi have tinnitus

Worst Waste of $300

They were at the top of every list for the best over-ear headphones. The sound was super quiet, no bass, no matter how high I would turn up the volume it still was quiet. I configured the sound using the app, still nothing, on top of that the noise cancelling is non-existent.

Poor design for longevity or repairability

Worse noise canceling than the wh-1000xm3. If you are a soft hipster type who doesn't know what a hammer is for the rubber coating might not start wearing off in a month or two. Maybe don't mow the lawn with them, or paint, or do anything but sit sweat-sweat free staring at your phone. They are not German Shephard proof. If the headband needs to be replaced there is a cable that attaches the two sides that runs through the bracket where the connector cannot fit. Thus, to do any significant repair to the headband, including the soft, ultra delicate faux rubber around the padding you better know where to source and how to crimp on an extraordinarily brittle 16 pin connector. Thank god for ebay and electrical tape. I won't be winning any fashion awards with my Frankenphones. If I had known they were so difficult to repair I wouldn't have purchased.
