Worse Noise Cancelling and Comfort Level than prev

I but them for a MEDIAL reason. I have severe Hyperacusis which is severe sensitivity to external sounds and even my own voice. Because of this, I have to wear these headphones ALMOST the whole time I am awake. If I am in a loud environment I have to use them to completely cover both of my ears, and if I am in a normal quieter environment, I can normally just cover one ear. I had to buy these because the WH1000M4 headphones that I had for about 3 years started squealing and I had to make an emergency purchase of these to keep my ears protected. I decided to upgrade to these, because I figured that if they were the generation, they would be even better. Here is what I noticed... 1. They do NOT noise cancel as well. I cannot have them ADAPT their noise cancelling to the environment. 2. They do NOT sit on my head as well and slip around a LOT. 3. I have to wear them all day long and they hurt the top of my head. By the time I realized all of this, the 2 week window to exchange them had passed. The HARDEST part for me is that they do not noise cancel as well so I struggle REALLY hard to go to anywhere where there is music playing, like at church. It goes right through my headphones and into my ears. I WISH I had gone with the generation earlier. I am sure that for someone that is NOT using them for these VERY specific medical conditions, they are probably ok. It is sad that the MORE expensive ones have worse noise cancelling and comfort ability.

I’d recommend sticking with the 4s while still available.

The only positive is they are insanely light weight, with that said they feel cheap and breakable. You want to keep these in the case for travel. The vegan leather easily picks up dirt, and the ear cups are already flattening! I’ve had the headset over a month now and I can say I really wish I just bought a new set of the XM4s. If you have the xm4s and are looking to upgrade DONT! You’ll be so upset once you notice all that’s missing in the new model. Either look into other options or rebuy the xm4s if you just want a new set.
