The ANC is better than the old model without that pressurized feeling. Sound stage is great on the default eq settings but a little tweaking really makes these shine, especially with LDAC enabled on Android. It's a shame that apple users miss out on that feature. These headphones are also very comfortable, I've been wearing them 4-5 hours at a time without any issues.

He had his for a year and spoke very highly of their quality, so I ordered a pair for her. Both kids love the headphones. I want a pair for myself now because they felt very comfortable on my ears, and the noise-cancelling feature is a must nowadays — especially if you want to block out the noise around you.

I was surprised at how comfy, and well-built these were when I put them on. The noise canceling is the best iteration yet and doesn't hurt my ears like previous models. If you want to splurge on over-ear headphones, then give these a try! I use these in the office daily and couldn't be happier.

Great sound quality and comfort

I wish they made cooking earpieces for them on release, that’s the only thing I would change. I use these to study in order to focus, and they’re comfortable enough to walk with outside as well. So far the connectivity seems pretty seamless.

I would give 5 stars however the price is high in my opinion. I love all the features, the app looks dated but is still useful. The only issues I have are regarding app settings changing and having to reset them each time I turn the headset on/off. Specifically the feature that pauses music when you turn your head gets annoying, I change it in the app however it changes back between uses. Overall, solid headphones but pricey for app annoyances.

I've had them for 9 months, and the only complaint I have is that when you wear a hood, sometimes the sensor is too sensitive and automatically skips songs or videos

For the noise cancellation, ensure they've sealed well around your ears, otherwise it's not good as some other reviewers have noted. Overall the comfort is pretty good minus the top headband. With the new narrow design it concentrates the pressure, which I find rather uncomfortable, especially after long use. I would definitely recommend trying the fit before buying. Given there isn't a star rating for comfort and fit, I'd give that 3 stars due to the issues highlighted above.

The WH-1000XM5 are beautifully finished in newly developed soft fit leather. This material fits snugly around the head with less pressure on the ears while keeping out external sounds. Super comfortable, works well with all my devices, sound quality is great for music and calls. The mic even filters your voice well during calls. Easy to adjust. The touch controls are very responsive. When powered on and placed on ears, they immediately drown out the outside nose. The mics work perfectly when on conference calls for which I use for work. The audio quality is superb which you can adjust through the Sony app to make it sound the way you want. The price was a little steep but well worth It!
