Noise canceling is nice. Comfortable. BUT. I’ve owned these about 17 months now. With about 30 days total use. And they just snapped on me mid flight. Wonderful. From other reviews I’ve seen. This seems like a common issue. I won’t be using Sony again for headphones.

The noise cancelation is really good. Love bringing these as my travel headphones for flights. Just be sure to learn the touch controls or ypull change the settings without know it.

They are comfy, sleek, and very much noise cancelling. I put them on sometimes even without music just to block out noise and they are perfect. Not to mention the sound. I bought the XM4 and really like them, so took the plunge for the upgrade. I'm not sure I see a big difference in the new one, but it still sounds great. Maybe a little lighter than the XM4. If you like top-notch headphones, these will definitelu fit the bill.

We opted for these over the Bose because we both really liked the ability to mute/turn off noise cancellation by holding your hand over the right ear. We also both thought these felt more comfortable than Bose, and that the sound was pretty much equal. However, these headphones are a little big for both of us, and that's our main complaint. We also find that we accidentally mute the headphones quite a bit when exercising. Otherwise, that are incredible.

Solid headphones but some improvements needed

The noise canceling function works well and I was looking for a set that were multipoint - able to connect more than one device - so that I can respond to my phone while working on my laptop. The reason for the 4/5 stars is because I am forced to download an app to do the multiple connections and connectivity isn’t always consistent resulting in a somewhat glitchy sound connection on MS Teams. This doesn’t happen often but for the price we shouldn’t have to deal with this.

This model doesnt fold. This model also seems to be easier to mark with fingerprints and oils from skin contact. The sound quality is great as I expected and thete is an equalizer app witb presets and you can make customs. The XM4 came with a case that included cords and an airplane adapter. XM5 doesnt inclue the double prong airplane adapter. I still love these but unless XM6 makes some inprovements and take inspiration from thr XM4 I might sit that generation out! Oh yeah.. these give me sweaty ears! These are NOT for the gym or a rainy day. Disappointed in that becuae the ANC is aweaome. Id love ro run in thse but Im sure they woild ger moisture damage

I think apart from the sound quality, the design is a nice form and not too bulky. As soon as I put them on the first time, the first thing was the bass response. Overall sound is tight, punchy and articulate.
