Disappointed but not surprised

They had and how light the model looks that these would have very good noise-canceling properties. But it doesn't, I think, because of how light it is, the muffling quality from the outside world is just lax, and not as good as you would think it is very light. I will give it that, but the noise-canceling properties are not good at all. You're wasting more money compared to like the older generation headphone, which, while yes, they are a little heavier, they are cheaper. And they have better noise-canceling qualities. If you're into lightness and esthetic and don't mind Not so good noise-canceling qualities, then definitely go for these. But if you are into noise-canceling qualities, definitely look into an older generation or a different pair of headphones. But not Bose, because they're just as light and bad. But the Sony earbuds or anyone's noise-canceling earbuds tend to be very good.

Thank you for sharing your hones review of the WH-1000XM5. We are very sorry that the Noise Canceling (ANC) did not meet your high expectations, especially feeling that the older XM4 offered a better, more complete seal.
We completely understand your focus on achieving ultimate silence. If your priority is the absolute best noise-canceling performance, we would recommend looking into the WH-1000XM6, as it is our latest model and features a new QN3 processor and 12-microphone array. This hardware is designed to deliver a noticeable improvement in overall ANC and is specifically engineered to handle the mid-to-high frequency noises, like voices, that you mentioned.
Before upgrading, please ensure you have disabled Adaptive Sound Control in the Sony | Headphones Connect app. This feature often automatically lowers the ANC, which can create the "lax" muffling effect you described.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.They are visually pretty, but, wearing them feels a little weird because they stick out on the sides - they’re definitely wide, so say goodbye to laying down and wearing them. The way they extend is unique, but I worry about the longevity of the arms. Additionally, the way they are meant to sit in the case is awkward, and a more clunky experience than the older model. Not a great user experience, especially for the price, I don’t want to feel like i’m struggling to get them out of the case. Not great for situations like an airport, or class. The headphones themselves work great, but unfortunately everything else about them is a let down.
