Having read your review regarding the low sound level, check the volume on the connected device as well as on the headphones. You may also play different song with different quality to further isolate the issue. High-quality songs will give you louder audio. From there, you can use the Sony sound connect app to adjust the sound to your liking. Make sure to update the firmware of the headphones by performing a software update. I work as a programmer and use these headphones at least 5hrs+ per week day. After work, I head over to gym for another hour of usage. I have been using these headphones for a month. I've always appreciated good and clean noise but noise cancelling is my top priority I am comparing this to my XM4s which I've had prior to these and used it in exact same conditions and usage for more than a year. Noise cancelling is not good at all on these headphones. I can hear my colleagues more almost clearly. I had to double check the settings multiple times so far to make sure noise cancelling is actually on. When I go to the bathroom at work and turn on the vent, you can clearly hear the difference in the amount of vent noise that gets in. When I have my head down, its loud, when I am washing my hands, its not as loud. It is a small one person bathroom so its not the distance. It is all this AI crap that they use now and the AI is trying to decide how much it is supposed to let in or out. XM4s would just keep everything out and that was that. This is super annoying that the amount of noise cancellation just keeps changing when you move 2ft... As I am just writing this, I just head my colleague move his mouse, while these are on my head... Not a keyboard click, but he just lifted his mouse and put it back down... 15ft away from me... wow ... total crap at this price point if you ask me. Noise cancelling seems to equal to how well the pads are covering your ears added with whatever you are playing and to me that is not noise cancelling... This whole using AI to adjust noise cancelling idea is a total bust. They should have improved what was on XM4s not re-write what was working. Enough about the noise cancelling, or the lack there of, let's talk about battery. It is also not superior to XM4s. At the end of a work day, XM4s would have more than %50 easy, these go down to %30 and when it is time to go to the gym, after 15 minutes or so, they are down at %20... Comfort You can clearly see in the pics that the XM4s have more padding. These cover around my ear more but they are more pushy kind of squeezing it Mobility As others stated, these don't fold. It has a bigger footprint. Loose point there too Conclusion These are not an upgrade to XM4s. There is a slight improvement on the sound I will give you that XM5s but it is not worth it since XM4s are already an amazing sounding pair. I will most likely going to return these and get XM4s

These lightweight headphones are beautifully finished in newly developed soft-fit leather. This material fits snugly around the head with less pressure on the ears while keeping out external sounds. You can also slide the left and right slider to adjust the length of the headband for comfortable listening experience.

The noise cancelation and transparency mode is so good. It's so comfy, like a pillow is wrapped around ur head, sometimes I forget its on my head from how comfortable it is.

After a year they are still amazing. The noise cancellation is amazing when I’m traveling and don’t want to listen to the environment around me. The only downside to these headphones is the headband. There isn’t much cushioning to it which results in discomfort after wearing the headphones after a while. I have to readjust the headphones frequently if I wear them for long periods of times because the headband feels like it is starting to dig into my head. Besides the headband issue the headphones are amazing and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is willing to pay the price and deal with the headband issue.

The little friction pads for the Headband fell off after about a year but it doesn't affect the noise at all. A little expensive but definitely worth it for headphone enthusiasts

Why don’t they fold?

It doesn’t fold so the carrying case is large. I didn’t set it up, went back and upgraded to the 6.

Excellent Quality Headphones

My husband's an over the road truck driver and he swears by these things. Doesn't feel heavy on his head after several hours of wear and doesn't put a lot of pressure on his head, as compared to the Apple headphones.

Incredible headphones

The black ones do collect grease from your skin and hair pretty easily, go with the silver ones if you have a choice.
