Great Noise cancelling and durable headphone

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just loved this headphone from Sony, although it is a little bit long in the tooth, it sounds great but it is a step lower than my new Sony-WH-1000XM5, the 1000XM4 is a much better when I'm traveling because it is foldable. It is also durable. My only minor complain is the touch sensitive right side, sometimes it's not that 100% consistent. I still recommend it since the price is dropping quicking. It is the best value headphone.

My boyfriend has the earbuds, so figured I’d try the over ear ones. I bought this specifically for flights. I have sensitive ears & so pressure changes are really painful. I have to wear something to help adjust the pressure, so it also blocks alot of noise. These headphones have enough space so it's not smushing my ears. The sound cancellation is amazing. There is an equalizer app & such that you have to separately download. I debated between these, airpods max, & beats for awhile & I'm so glad I went with these.

Great but not anazing

Was sweating a lot and experiencing ear pain no matter the settings in the app. Bought after market mesh ear pads and it helped but didn't eliminate 100%.

Fantastic but uncomfortable

Unfortunately, they get uncomfortable after about ten minutes of use. Sony didn’t add nearly enough padding to the headband so it feels like my head is right against the plastic. I’ve seen some reviews about this, but most don’t mention it, so maybe its not much of an issue for everyone.

Ensuring the correct fit can significantly improve comfort. Here are some tips on how to wear the headphones correctly:
Check the Left and Right Indicators: Make sure you are wearing the headphones with the correct orientation. The left and right sides are marked on each slider, with a tactile dot on the left side.
Adjust the Sliders: Extend the sliders and position the earpads to cover your ears completely. Adjust the sliders so that the headband touches the top of your head softly.
Ensure Proper Fit: Make sure the earpad cushions do not bump against your ears and that the headband fits snugly but comfortably on the top of your head.

Worth Every Penny Of Price Difference vs. XM4.

The newly designed XM5's are MUCH more sturdy than the XM4's that I constantly worried would break. The touch pad on the XM5 seems to be more responsive and consistent in the way it processes touches. The XM5 also auto connects more consistently, and they seem to hold the connection better. I also considered the Bose QC Ultras, and I ultimately chose the XM5's due to their longer battery life and much better microphone.
