I swap between these and AirPods Pro 2. But these definitely take the lead when I want something a little more beefy. And the battery life is also excellent, I’ve had them for 4 months and only had to charge them twice. Give em a try!

My brother has the AirPod Max and yeah the sound good but not amazing, they are also heavy, and it’s weird that there is not off button. After a dive into people reviewing both headphones, the sony headphones are recommended if you are solely buying the headphones for sound quality, the apple if you don’t mind splurging more money and you only have apple products. I honestly love my headphones I have several piercings all around my ear and struggle with my ears hurting when having something against my ears but I don’t have that with these. If you find that the sound quality isn’t great in the beginning download the app and you can make adjustments. Only con is they don’t fold into themselves, they come with a nice case but it’s pretty big, but even then I don’t mind them.

Worth every penny.

I can wear them for 5 or 6 hours without the top of my head getting pressed & ache by the headband. The controls are easy to use by touch tap or swipe on the headphone cup. The noise canceling is excellent as is the sound quality we have come to expect from Sony. They work very well for phone calls and web meeting calls like Zoom. They only fold flat, but really that makes them fit better in my laptop bag than the previous versions that folded up into a felt bag. Used with the Sony Music Center app, the custom transmission protocal really brings to life classical and movie music. But there is still the optional cable and you can plug straight into a PC or receiver for pure sound quality. I am extremely pleased with them.

Couldn’t recommend enough. The battery life is around 60 hours. They are lightweight and comfy! The blue color is also gorgeous!

I finally decided after booking a long flight that my current earphones were not going to be enough noise cancellation and comfortable. As an avid music listener/video watcher, these are incredible. Noise cancelling is amazing, the features (like how it’ll allow ambient sound in if it detects you talking or someone talking to you, covering an ear allows you to listen to the sound around you, etc.) add on to the value! These work so well I can easily use them in the office as well and not feel like I won’t hear my coworkers when they’re talking to me. I’m extremely happy with my purchase.

Excellent battery life and audio quality

The XM5’s have the best ANC that I have ever seen, with the amazing bass and spatial audio, it makes for a great headphone to be used for daily lives.

A Sony Headphone Must Have

He was knowledgeable about both products and, in the end, I was sold on the Sony. I think I got the best deal. The sound is awesome and just what I wanted.

The transparency mode does a good job at bringing in outside noise but doesn’t do a good job at making your own voice sound like you aren’t wearing anything. Battery life is excellent and the app works well on my iPhone 14 Pro.

Best Wireless Headphones on the Market

I love being able to connect to multiple devices at once as well. Yeah, they are expensive but if you wear them every day like I do it's worth it to get the best.

Exceptional Sound Quality and ANC

I really dig the modern, minimalist design of the XM5s. The Mark 5s feature exceptional sound quality, imaging, and an open sound stage, although I would give the edge to AirPods Max. With every major streaming service, with the notable exception of Spotify supporting Dolby, the lack of support for Dolby Atmos is a huge omission. As such, you'll have a far better experience watching movies and shows, that support Dolby, with AirPods Max. ANC on these is exceptional. One disappointment is transparency/ambient mode, which is just leagues better on AirPods Max. It's odd that Apple was able to create a magical pass through audio experience with their very first set of over the ear headphones. With decades of experience designing/manufacturing headphones, I expect better from Sony. Overall, these are well worth the price. Hopefully, the next iteration will include support for Dolby and feature a far better ambient mode.

Good headphones, poor touch sensor

I don't understand why Sony and most other headphone manufacturers feel the need to include touch capabilities in such a way that it reduces overall functionality. 1. If you're using this pair of headphones under hot weather and your ears get sweaty, the touch sensor gets erroneous input 2. When swiping with a finger, the margin of error for directional swipes is too low 3. If the touch capabilities are disabled with the phone app, the ear cup nonetheless still *beeps* when it senses your finger Noise-cancelling is best-in-class. Design aesthetic is awesome. Sound quality is great. Despite no longer folding in for a compact storage like previous models, the lack of another structural point of failure makes me indifferent to this issue. I'd give it five stars, if only Sony could also provide the option for actual button inputs.

Best darn headphones on the market

The sound that came these headphones produced were amazing. I particularly enjoyed the noise canceling feature that kept all the noise in the aircraft completely out, which allowed me to thoroughly enjoy the movie I watched while on the plane. This pair of headphones also has a terrific feature that allowed me to pause noise canceling by simply touching the right headphone with two fingers. This feature allowed me to have a conversation without completely removing the headphones. I would recommend this product to anyone who plans to take a trip or simply use it while you’re working out because it sounds great. It also provides a comfortable fit and has a pretty good battery life.

Pretty solid

Still tweaking a bit to find the right way to wear it for long periods of time while remaining comfortable. The noise cancelation seems pretty solid. Having to use the phone app for several features is the biggest flaw, but maybe one it shares with similar products.
