Fantastic software first headset - not perfect

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The noise canceling is amazing and really helps me lock in ehile im working since im easily distracted.trying to use it with windows I had some driver issues and i had to google a whole bunch of stuff to get good quality and low latency but it eventually worked like a charm. Thats my biggest gripe. Some minor bugs or things i dont understand. Has a lot of bells and whistles that really surprised me and showed how far you can take the software approach. You can control the headset from you phone but also conmect to another device lik your pc etc.

They are comfy, sleek, and very much noise cancelling. I put them on sometimes even without music just to block out noise and they are perfect. Not to mention the sound. The sound on these is heaven, it amplifies the noise in a way no other headphones can compare. It’s 100% worth the price

Puts any in-ear headphones with active noise canceling to shame, which it should as the form factor would be wasted if this were not true. Even the passive noise canceling with the headphones off is enjoyable and requires no battery. The presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack is also greatly appreciated and nice to use, for example, in a setting such as a flight that might have a monitor with no Bluetooth connectivity. The Bluetooth range is also substantial - I am able to leave my phone at another level of my house and walk around without connectivity issues.

Noise canceling is nice. Comfortable. BUT. I’ve owned these about 17 months now. With about 30 days total use. And they just snapped on me mid flight. Wonderful. From other reviews I’ve seen. This seems like a common issue. I won’t be using Sony again for headphones.

Foam is very soft, sony’s sound is always great. Double tap functions so you can hear who you talking to or around you. Crying children on planes melt away and allow me to chill with my tunes. The sound quality is great and the battery goes forever. Software links easily to iPhones and you can connect to Bluetooth on airplanes too or use the cord that comes with it.

Good battery life. Charges using USB-C cable. Much better than my old BeatsStudio Wireless or Powerbeats Pro (still best for work calls). So glad I took the leap of faith over Bose. Bose can claim top ANC but I'd rather have better sound with very good ANC and enjoy music and movies wearing a smile on the plane.

I've had, and consequently compared these Headphones to the Bowers and Wilkins PX7's, the older Sony 1000MX3's and Jabra Elite 85t's and the Sony's Noice Cancelling is superfluous. No question. The deep bass, the rich treble/highs makes listening to everything from 2Pac to Enya, to Nelly a choice experience. The phone/bluetooth quality is outstanding. I refuse to take a call on any other headset that I own than these Sony WH-1000MX5's!!
