The sound is really good, there is just something that I don't like about it that I can't put my finger on, even after messing with the EQ. The earcups also really hurt my ears after about an hour of wearing them. I use my headphones to play music for hours while I try to complete classes online, so I am not able to have something this expensive that I can only use for an hour at a time. As a side note, the app that they use also sucks imo. It has a lot of features, but is not user friendly. I am very disappointed as I was expecting to have these for years to come.

If you still have the WH-1000XM5, we'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, If the headset is worn without adjusting the slider, the headset may not be positioned properly on your head, resulting in discomfort or a weak noise canceling effect. The wearing detection function of the headset may also not work properly and cause music playback to stop automatically or activate the automatic power off function (the battery saving function) to automatically turn off the headset. Poor design but decent sound

Headphones always break in the swivel joint. Sounds are good. Person on other end of call sometimes complain about me sounding muffled especially when in a loud environment like the datacenter i work in.

Good headphones, not a 5/5

Good sound quality, but i returned them after a few days. I prefer some of the other options. I also didnt like the way they set on my head/around my neck when I wasnt using them.

Sony or Not to Sony

Sorry, I guess I may be a bit of a basshead. I also know a bit about sound quality as well as I won my share of IASCA sanctioned events where sound quality is king. But back to the Headphones..If you're looking for features that will blow your mind..then you have picked the right headset. Features such as weekly decible level checks to warn you of how loud your listening levels have been versus a national panel of certified analyst. These Headphones are feature rich. Sound Quality wise, They are a bit " Tinny" sounding at higher levels, where as the "Beats Studios" absolutely destroy Sony in this department. If you'te looking for overrall volume and bass, I would go with " Beats Studios." If features and a great looking headset that updates regularly flips your trigger then the Sony's are still there for you.

To ensure an optimal listening experience, downloading the Sony Headphones Connect app lets you adjust your bass levels and gives you sound quality presets. There is even an EQ in there—which can be customized to fine-tune your music to your liking. You can edit the volume of the CLEAR BASS. Increasing the CLEAR BASS setting value allows your headphones to reproduce dynamic deep bass without distortion, even at a high volume.
NOTE: When the audio source does not contain much bass sound, the bass sound may not be audible.

Touching the headset with sweaty hands, or using the headset in situations where the headset may get soaked in sweat may result in malfunction. They can still be used while doing light exercises. These worked great for the first 12 months. but then the left hinge broke. For background I bought these for work and they stay at my desk. No travel just work calls on teams and some music. It seems crazy to me that they broke. I called Sony support and they clamed it was due to regular aware and tear and said it would be a min of 100 dollars to repair them plus shipping. I looked it up and this seems to break FTC laws.
