Your feedback is extremely important to us and is very much appreciated. If you use the headset at a place where it is restricted to use Bluetooth devices such as on an airplane, you can use the headset as noise canceling headphones while the headset is connected to a device via the supplied headphone cable and the headset is turned on. You can listen to music even if the headset is turned off. In this case, the noise canceling function cannot be used.
Note: You can use Quick Attention Mode and Speak-to-Chat while the headset is connected to a device via the supplied headphone cable and the headset is turned on. Perform operations, such as adjusting the volume and play/pause, on the playback device. When the headset is turned off, you cannot use Quick Attention Mode and Speak-to-Chat.

I would be careful with them daily and put it away and never drop them. I would never take them out of the house. Would not recommend.

Make sure the noise canceling function is turned on.
Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions.

Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. First and foremost, the noise-canceling feature, which was a significant selling point for me, is underwhelming. Despite the advanced technology touted by Sony, I can still hear background noises, especially in louder environments like airplanes or busy streets. This is a major letdown considering these are marketed as top-tier noise-canceling headphones. The build quality is another issue. While they look sleek, the headphones feel surprisingly flimsy. After just a few weeks of careful use, I’ve noticed the headband creaking and the ear cups not fitting as snugly as they did initially. This raises serious concerns about their durability. Comfort is also lacking. The ear pads, although soft, become uncomfortably warm after extended use, and the overall fit feels too tight, leading to discomfort during longer listening sessions. I’ve tried adjusting them multiple times, but nothing seems to alleviate the pressure on my ears. Battery life was advertised as excellent, but I’ve found it to be inconsistent. Some days, I barely get through a workday before needing to recharge, despite moderate usage. This inconsistency is frustrating and not what I expected from a premium product. Lastly, the sound quality is decent but not exceptional. For the high price tag, I anticipated a richer, more immersive audio experience. Instead, the sound feels flat, and the bass is often overpowering, drowning out the mids and highs. Overall, the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones have been a significant disappointment. Given their high price, I expected a product that excels in all areas, but these headphones fall short in noise-canceling, build quality, comfort, battery life, and sound quality. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and high-performing pair of wireless headphones.
