Posted .Hi Guzi, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your experience with your WH1000XM5. While we're glad you like the amazing sound quality of the unit, we regret to hear you're having some heat discomfort when wearing the headset due to the tight seal over the ears.
If you put on the headset without adjusting the slider, the headset may not be positioned properly on your head, resulting in discomfort.
To ensure a comfortable fit and to use the unit for longer periods, please adjust the left and right slider. This unit also has super-soft, pressure-relieving earpads foamed urethane that evenly distributes pressure.

Please note that not all apps are design to support this feature. Bad feedback

I also tried calling my own phone using my extra phone and still have that ugly feedback. I even tried lowering down the volume and see if it does help still no luck and had to end up returning it.

While we're glad you like the exceptional noise cancelling and sound quality of the headphones, it's unfortunate to hear that you're hearing unwanted noise on your headphones. This is definitely not the experience we'd like to hear from you. For noise or unusual sound that is heard during calls, re-establish the connection between the headphones and your source device. Select HFP or HSP for the profile. We also recommend updating the headphones on the latest firmware version. The software includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.
If the behavior still continues, resetting and initializing the headset may help with the troubleshooting. Please note we have a customer hotline that is happy to assist you and help troubleshoot any concerns you have, and your headphones has a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase.

Firstly, please make sure they are up to date by following the instructions in the link below:

Secondly, reset the headphones by connecting them to an outlet. While they're plugged in, press and hold the power button and the NC/AMB button simultaneously. After a few seconds, release both buttons.
Thirdly, perform a factory reset by unplugging the cable, turning them off, and pressing and holding the power button and the NC/AMB button for about 7 seconds. When done, the indicator (blue) will flash 4 times.

Waste of money

It’s an obvious defect, so unless you get the warranty it’s not worth it.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned all the previous generations of the X1000 series and all have been stellar performers. This 5th iteration again does not disappoint. Once they were revealed, I was more than happy to pick up a pair and give them a try. As I said, they are fantastic but not perfect. It's hard to fault them but I did find a couple of things I'd address. One more thing to note is that they are a bit more expensive this time around. After unpacking, first thing I noticed was the new style/design. It's a sleeker take this time out. There are only 2 buttons on them. One for power and one for the programmable noise cancellation/ambient sound control. There is also a headphone jack in case you want to use them corded. The headband is attached differently now and they don't fold up like all the previous versions. That is not ideal but it's also not a major issue for me, anyway. The earcups are made from what I think is synthetic leather but I'm not sure. The charcoal fabric carrying case is larger and has a built-in storage compartment that has a magnetic lid. The compartment holds an included 3.5mm headphone cable and a USB A to USB C charging cable. The case still fits just fine in my backpack for when I bike to work. Set up was just as easy as always. You just need to connect via Bluetooth and you'll need the Sony Headphones app to access all the extra features that are offered, and it's a long list. One major thing I have noticed is that they are extremely light. It's amazing they packed more features and battery life while making them much lighter. It may be from the new non foldable headband but I'm not sure. They ear cups are pivoted slightly forward as well and they rest nicely on my head. One gripe I do have is that I get warm wearing them and I've noticed sweat around the ear cups. That's not a good thing as they are not water resistant in any way. Of course, listening performance is fantastic. The Bluetooth connection is now 5.2 which allows for even farther distance from source. They sound very similar to the M4 version but apparently they have improved upon the Noise Cancellation/Ambient Sound feature. There are more processors built in as well as more microphones which allow for better handling of exterior sounds. I really didn't notice that much different from my M4s but for me, at this point, they are already so good that its moot. The app is packed with additional sound control features like the custom equalizer, Ambient Sound Control, 360 Reality Audio and DSEE Extreme upscaler. Plus it still offers the amazing programmable touch controls found on the previous generations. I actually think they work better this time – far fewer errors while swiping. If you're a Spotify user, there is now the option to set up a quick access tap to launch Spotify directly. Battery life is up 10 hours to 40 hours with ANC on...that's amazing! My one other gripe I mentioned before was that while using these, certain songs seem to get muddy. Things sound a bit mushed together and harsh. It's rare but I have definitely noticed it where I really didn't hear that on my M4s. I was a little surprised. Generally though, they are well balanced, clear and have strong bass response. Overall, Im super happy with the new version of an already amazing headphone series. Sony seems to outdo itself with every version and still remains at the very top of list for headphones priced at this range. Even with a couple of small gripes, I'm ecstatic to use these as my everyday, go to headphones.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.these headphones were so disappointing, and that makes me so sad because everyone hyped them up online. the ANC wasn’t the best, but pretty ok. it worked the best when you had your volume way up. the main reason i’m upset it that the second time i tried connecting these headphones to my phone, iphone 12 mini for refrence, they started making a terrible crackling and static sound and wouldn’t power on. i had only used them one time before for about ten minutes fresh out of the box with a full charge. i really thought that these headphones were supposed to be the best on the market :(

Does not work correctly on a PC with Windows

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this headset if you plan on using it with a PC because when you enable the hands free microphone in Windows, the sound quality becomes extremely tinny in quality to the point that it hurts your ears. The only way to fix this is to disable the hands free microphone in the device manager. Another issue that this headset allows you to connect to two Bluetooth devices at the same time, but if you do this, then any video on your PC will constantly stop playing and the only way to address this issue is to disable this ability, or turn off the Bluetooth of the other device that is is attached to. When you enable the ability to connect to two Bluetooth devices, the headset is extremely sensitive to the location of the Bluetooth antenna on the PC and this results in intermittent disconnecting from the computer. Another issue is that the Bluetooth antenna on the headset is in the left ear cup so if your computer positioned on your right side, your Bluetooth connection will be intermittent. The only way to fix this is to either move your PC to left side, or move the PC Bluetooth antenna where it has a direct line of sight with the left ear of the headset. To get this headset to work with my PC, I had to disable the ability to connect to two devices at the same time, and then move my PC Bluetooth antenna to where the left ear phone was in visual sight of it, and I had to purchase a separate microphone for recording and chatting.

High expectations but ultimately disappointing

Main problem (two different units tried) was that it was unable to maintain Bluetooth connection. Finally went back to Bose (700) and have had zero problems with sound and noise canceling exemplary.
