For an expensive product it is held together by cheap material. Even with a product alert and in-warranty you will have to pay $99.99 (discount by the way) to get it fixed, because it doesn't cover damage. How it broke, I picked them up one day, and they just snapped on the left side. If you choose to buy this, get the Geek Squad Protection, Sony's warranty won't help you.

The headphones to beat.

The noise cancelling they offer rivals (or beats) anything on the market. They sound amazing, and they are very comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time. The touch and software features are excellent, and very easy to use. Setting up the active noise cancelling takes no effort on your part. It just works. On top of all of that, the ability to connect to two different Bluetooth devices at once is very convenient. I connect to my phone to get text notifications, which I can then reply to using the Google Assistant, while still being connected to my PC to do video editing work. I have been wearing these for many consecutive hours at a time and they have not bothered me at all. The battery life has been excellent as well, lasting me several days of work (and listening to music and/or replying to texts). I think I'm even getting well over the 30 hours of use they advertise. The fast charging is also super impressive. You can get around 3 hours of charge off of about 3 minutes of charging. Which is just crazy. I think my only real complaint is the lack inability to fold these up like the 1000X-M4s. The case is a little bulkier than the previous model because of this, but it's not significantly bigger. Pros: Superb sound quality, very long battery life, excellent active noise cancelling, very comfortable (even for long sessions), easy setup, great features Cons: Unable to collapse/fold up, a bit on the pricey side

Adjust the Equalizer Settings: Use the Sony | Headphones Connect app to adjust the equalizer settings. You can experiment with different presets or create a custom EQ setting that suits your preferences.
Enable DSEE Extreme: In the Sony | Headphones Connect app, enable DSEE Extreme (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) under the Sound settings. This feature helps to improve the quality of compressed audio files by restoring high-range sound.
Use LDAC Codec: Ensure that LDAC is enabled on your phone's Bluetooth settings for the headphones. LDAC allows for higher quality audio streaming over Bluetooth. You can find this setting in your phone's Bluetooth options for the WH-1000XM5.34
Check Audio Source Quality: Make sure that the audio files or streaming quality settings are set to high. For example, in Spotify, you can set the streaming quality to "Very High" in the app settings.
Disable Other Equalizers: If you are using any other equalizers in your audio streaming applications, it might be best to disable them and let the headphones' built-in processing handle the audio enhancement.

Unfortunately after less than a year the headphones developed a problem where the sound would cut out intermittently. We threw the Sony headphones away and bought a pair of Apple Air Pods Pro, which are working fine.
