Overall amazing but not for workingout

The fitment was good when it came to walking around but when laying on a bench the headphones would slide off. Also had an issue where during any over hand movement my shoulders would trigger the haptic controls.

Thank you for the feedback. It is unfortunate that the headphones had to be returned. The WH1000XM5 can be used for work out session in the gym. For more serious workouts, we suggest our headphones specifically designed for that task. Check out our WF-C500s and the WF-1000XM4s. Headphones hurts your ears

These headphones design hurts my ears only after an hour of wearing them. The sound these put out sound hollow and artificial. If you're an average user and haven't tried cans Like Grado or Sennheiser......then you obviously have no idea what I'm even talking about when I talk about good sounding cans. I returned these the next day. I do have to say though that #1. Call quality is top notch & Sound cancellation is excellent........but doesn't meaning nothing to me if the music part is not up to par. For $400......these cans are WAYYYYYYY OVERPRICED for the average sound quality.

While we are glad you like call quality and noise cancellation of the WH1000XM5, we regret to hear that unit had to returned due to sound quality and discomforts issues. Sound also depends on the music you are playing and audio device connected. However, this may be improved by adjusting the setting on the Sony headphone| Connect app according to your preference for best sound experience. For discomfort issues, adjusting them for a personalized fit is easy with a stepless slider, seamless swivel and hanger, and silent joints, makes WH-1000XM5 a pleasure to wear. 1- Set the "automatic power off function" to [Do not turn off] on the [system] tab of the Sony Sound Connect app.
2-Make sure the battery is always fully charged
3- Update the software
4- Wear the headset so that your ears are fully inside the earpads so that the wearing detection works properly.

DO NOT BUY. There is a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT again

These worked great for the first 12 months. but then the left hinge broke. For background I bought these for work and they stay at my desk. No travel just work calls on teams and some music. It seems crazy to me that they broke. I called Sony support and they clamed it was due to regular aware and tear and said it would be a min of 100 dollars to repair them plus shipping. I looked it up and this seems to break FTC laws. Amazing sounds with a side of discomfort

However you wont be able to enjoy it for long. I find myself only being able to go 1-2 hours of usage before discomfort builds up on the ears and the top of the head. I have experience wearing numerous amounts of headphones at a similar, and exceeding price range. None of which I find this much discomfort at such a fast rate.i would return them but by the time i got to sit down and really use them to understand my issues the return policy had pasted.

So much is said about the XM5 being improved over the XM4. In my opinion it is not. ANC is great but sound feels “smaller” and lacks depth compared to the XM4. Fit was awkward on my head; all day comfort with no need to adjust often with the XM4. Purchased twice, first almost immediately upon release and again in Jan 24, wanting to try again & see if I was mistaken. Returned both purchases within 72 hours. XM4 & Bose QC Ultra are better picks for this price range.

These headphones stopped connecting to my phone 6 months into owning them. They would disconnect and reconnect often. But now almost a year later, these won’t connect to anything. I’ve tried my laptop, friends’ phones, my pc etc. I have reset them continuously but nothing works. If they had no bluetooth issues these headphones would be 10/10.

We also appreciate trying to troubleshoot the problem and performing a reset. In addition, we also recommend ensuring that the latest firmware is installed with version 2.1.0. Kindly launch the Headphones Connect App to check and verify the firmware.
If the headset does not operate correctly even after resetting, initialize the headset. To initialize,
Turn off the headset.
Press and hold button and the NC/AMB button for about 7 seconds.
When the initializing is complete, the indicator (blue) flashes 4 times .
