Not as great as you would think

They probably are for most people. But for me, I wanted ones that sound incredible. These don't sound incredible. The bass is muddy and there is not as much detail as I would like, as in the Sennheiser Momentum 3 and 4. All the other functions such as ANC, transparency, controls, comfort are great. If you are not very discerning or picky about audio quality, then go ahead and get these. But why would you pay this much if you don't care about audio quality? Get the Momentum 4 would be my recommendation.

There is good news however! By downloading the Headphones Connect app, you can customize the settings to suit your preferences. It also has an Equalizer that you can select and customize to fine-tune your music.

Noise canceling a step below the 1000xm4

Knew something was different, sound quality on par with the older version yet NC isn't worth this price tag. Returning and will purchase a backup of my tried and true WH-1000XM4.

If the effect of noise canceling is not sufficient, please try the following:
Make sure the noise canceling function is turned on.
Adjust the headset into a comfortable position.
The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.
When the Adaptive Sound Control on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app is turned on, the wearer's actions, like walking or running, are detected. The noise canceling function is automatically adjusted and the Ambient Sound Mode may be activated according to these actions.
To make the most of the noise canceling function, turn off the Adaptive Sound Control, and try to turn on the noise canceling function manually when you need it.
With the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, check the setting of [Ambient Sound Control]. If it is set to [Ambient Sound], the effect of noise canceling is reduced. Set it to the noise canceling mode.
Check with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app whether the function of the NC/AMB button is set to [Ambient Sound Control].
Because the noise canceling performance is automatically optimized by the Auto NC Optimizer function according to changes in the wearing condition and usage environment, you may notice fluctuations in the noise canceling effect.

The music is really good for blue tooth. The signal is solid. I’m new to noise canceling, so it’s amazing for me to have the lawn mower fade into Bolivia ( ok,oblivion),and these cans do a phenomenal job at reducing ambient noise. I love these headphones. I tried the Apple, but it was a tad too heavy, so I replaced them with this Sony. Convenient swipes control music selection and volume without having to handle the iPod touch that I’m using with Apple Music.

What good is 30 hours of playback when you have to take them off every 30 minuites to give your head a break? Try them on, if they fit they are great.

You may be experiencing a symptom called listener fatigue. That is where your eardrums work hard to manage the volume that flows through your ear canal. The louder the volume, the bigger the strain on your eardrums, which then causes the feeling of fatigue. For optimum performance, make sure that the software of your headphones is updated as it includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.
Set the headset to “Priority on stable connection”
Remove any obstacles between the Bluetooth device and headphones.
If you are enjoying music with your smartphone, the situation may be improved by closing unnecessary apps or restarting your smartphone.
Turning off [Service Link] on the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app may reduce the amount of audio dropout.
Reset the headset.
Initialize the headset, and pair the headset and the device again.

For the past 10 years I went with LG, because they were the only ones that had a good/ practical headphones. Out of 4, 3 are still working! I got the black one on 4/18/22, 2 weeks later I had to change them because they were loosing connection. The second black ones today 5/11/23 , I had to return them because the touch pad wasn't responding anymore unless I restart the headset. So today I got the blue one, hopefully they'll last more than 2 weeks... plus a question: did the people at Sony who were testing these, never looked up while having this headphones on their heads? Because they're really falling off, if you look up and forget you have them on your head...

I had to return them as my ears got hot after half hour of use. I have the version 2 of them and it’s ok with ears getting hot. I can use them for more than 4 hours without problems. I liked the 5 but no way to use them.

Amazing sound quality

If they only had a feature that put them into stand by when you took them off it would be 5 stars! I forget to hold the power button so often that i sometimes return to drastically low battery life.
