Major upgrade from already great headphones

Almost everything is better, from the noise canceling and the comfort to the USB-C charging. The only thing that took a little getting used to is the tones that replace the voice prompts. I even tested the mics, and the non-voice noise is almost eliminated. Best WFH/study aid I could hope for!

Sound is amazing, headphones a bit big

We opted for these over the Bose because we both really liked the ability to mute/turn off noise cancellation by holding your hand over the right ear. We also both thought these felt more comfortable than Bose, and that the sound was pretty much equal. However, these headphones are a little big for both of us, and that's our main complaint. We also find that we accidentally mute the headphones quite a bit when exercising. Otherwise, that are incredible.

Best NC Headphones for studying with Misophonia

I use them at the gym and to play games and study. Theyre authentically pleasing so i dont feel silly wearing them. They do fall off with heavy activity so i dont recommend them for running or jumping. But i LOVE the NC features because i struggle with misophonia so much.

Super comfortable, works well with all my devices, sound quality is great for music and calls. The mic even filters your voice well during calls. I have been listening to music in the background on a call and the person I was talking to didnt hear a thing.

Excellent upgrade from WH-1000XM3

The ANC is better than the old model without that pressurized feeling. Sound stage is great on the default eq settings but a little tweaking really makes these shine, especially with LDAC enabled on Android. It's a shame that apple users miss out on that feature. These headphones are also very comfortable, I've been wearing them 4-5 hours at a time without any issues.

Bought these for my kid (24 yr old). Said these are very good. Loves the over ear. Can wear them quite a while without listening fatigue. Loves the function of covering on one ear muff to be able to pause listening and talk to people.

Best Sony WH Series Headphones Yet!

I was surprised at how comfy, and well-built these were when I put them on. The noise canceling is the best iteration yet and doesn't hurt my ears like previous models. If you want to splurge on over-ear headphones, then give these a try! I use these in the office daily and couldn't be happier.

Inferior quality - expecting Sony to recall
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy these headphones "WH1000XM5", the physical quality of these headphones do not match the high price. I got the Sony - WH1000XM5 6 months ago and the sound quality was always great though the headphones themselves felt flimsy when compared to WH1000XM4. That is, up until recently when the plastic of the right swivel piece cracked and a piece fell off, rendering the headphones unusable. I would understand if this was due to rough handling, this was from normal use leading to the right swivel breaking and the right speaker being left dangling by the wire (please see the attached pictures). Many others who’ve purchased this product have had the exact same issue with the exact same piece, suggesting a definite manufacturing defect. But Sony refuses to either recall or cover the damages, despite the headphones being under warranty, just a simple google search "wh1000xm5 broken hinge issue" will show the exact same issue occurring all across the globe. When contacting customer support they simply referred me to a separate repair shop and said there was nothing they could do. All in all a terrible experience and would not purchase headphones from Sony again, you’re much better off purchasing from a brand such as Bose or Apple where the product is sturdy and they stand behind their products whether it is good or bad, providing ample and just customer support. Being a loyal Sony customer, purchasing everything from their Sound System, to TV's to Playstation, my expectation is that Sony, as a flagship product, needs to step up and do a recall. This will set the right brand image for Sony backing their reputation.

I love using them when i just want to get lost in the music, the bass and treble is good and the eq is good. They do get my ears warm from the material of the ear muffs after using them for a while.
