The headphones began to power of on their own. After updates and any additional attempts from SONY, they sent me a new pair. After about 90 days again, the headphones began powering off on their own. After the same problem again, SONY’S resolution was to send me another pair at a discounted price of $200. So, I’ve had 2 faulty devices with the same problem and now SONY acts like they are helping me out by expecting me to pay $600 for a pair of headphones. Their customer service is horrible with no one in a leadership role to help

DO NOT BUY. There is a CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT again

These worked great for the first 12 months. but then the left hinge broke. For background I bought these for work and they stay at my desk. No travel just work calls on teams and some music. It seems crazy to me that they broke. I called Sony support and they clamed it was due to regular aware and tear and said it would be a min of 100 dollars to repair them plus shipping. I looked it up and this seems to break FTC laws. To use your headphones for video calls on your computer, you need to make sure that the Speaker and Microphone settings are set correctly. Otherwise, the voice of the other party may not be heard or the other party may not hear you.
Before we walk you through the settings, it's important that you know the different types of Bluetooth® profiles and what they are used for. Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) is intended to playback music. The Hands-free Profile (HFP) and Headset Profile (HSP) are intended for voice calls.
Depending on the video calling app, the voice call may not be available when connected using the A2DP profile, so make sure to select the HFP/HSP profile when you want to use the headphones for video calls.

They do not provide enough padding on top of the head. Also they hurt my ears because they don't have enough that in the ear pads.

Just Not It

Aesthetically less pleasing than last generation (opinion), no clear improvement in sound eq, noise cancellation doesn’t seem any better than cheaper headphones, AND there’s the subscription for using a feature on them??? My biggest complaint would the comfort on the ear cups. The material gets very warm and eventually sweaty if you use them an extended period of time. Overall, I think you can buy better at a similar price point.

Our WH-1000XM5 has a slider that you can use to adjust the length of the headband to get the best fit and for comfortable listening experience. Note: If you put on the headset without adjusting the slider, the headset may not be positioned properly on your head, resulting in discomfort or a weak noise canceling effect. The WH-1000XM5 headphones have a built-in equalizer on the Sony Headphones Connect app which can be customized to fine-tune your music to your liking. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.
