I cannot, by any means recommend anyone get these headphones. The band is made of the most brittle plastic ever, so a single drop will shatter it. Repairing the thing is a nightmare too, you have to remove minimum 10 screws, 1 adhesive gasket which will never truly work again, and pop off the front ear cup to even access the innards. Oh, and it just happens through normal wear and tear too, just happens when you put the headphones on enough. $400 for absolute e-waste.

I've never purchased such expensive headphones...these were WORTH it. They completely block out sound. I went to a car wash, sat close to the machine tunnel, played music and could not hear the car wash AT ALL. The smart features are super convenient. If they were waterporoof I would never removw them. Super amazing.

Worse than last version should be half the price

Great noise isolation best I've experienced, great battery life, super comfortable but sound quality, which is most important, is awful at this price range. Almost underwater sounding and can't properly adjust third party EQ to fix, and the vegan leather doesn't seem it will last too long. Love the 3.5 option though. So overpriced for the quality of audio one gets, worse than xm4. Terrible option for Windows users, can't use Sony app with EQ without Google account and third party software to run app on Windows properly. I can't justify this purchase, maybe if it lived up to Sony's supposed great reputation of pleasing audiophiles like myself, but they're moving backwards with sound quality at this point. Too much focus on being mobile with Bluetooth, time to go back to old school wired for home.

I was very disappointed. I decided to go with these XM5's and at the very first listen i FELL IN LOVE! These headphone sleave the Bose ones in the dust! Best sounding mainstream wireless headphones, few negatives though, the touch sensor panel seems to have a kind of its own!I wear them all day for work all year round so I wish they had less wear fatigue but if you wear them for shorter periods of time they are perfectly comfortable!Otherwise my favorite headphones!

I've had a XM2 for 6 years which worked so well, but I unfortunately lost it during a trip. Upgraded to XM5 last month and it delivers moreeeeee than expected. Sound is a personal taste but I prefer Sony's profile to Bose and Apple. Definitely recommend :)

She is a musician and records from our home studio quite a bit and these have fantastic headphones for recording or just sure listening casually. Left side doesnt NC fully

The battery, for me, by how i use it, lasts me about 3 days (heavy to light usage) at 10% while typing this. The only downside for me right now is that the left side of the headphones doesn't block sound up to 35%. Whenever I turn on my music to 75% (highest safe hearing limit) and do stuff, i can still slightly hear, the door opening, me vacuuming, car engine running, all with noise canceling on, not ambient sound control on. This is the only reason why i might return these and maybe get the bose 700.
