It’s too close to call thought and you can’t go wrong with these. A little less base, but better sound overall and top notch noise cancelling.

I love the feature to minimize the sound. Cons: Not great for workouts which is one reason for my purchase. The sound is great but the material that covers the ear gets clammy.

ANC isnt great

Noy sure why but I believe it has to do with the adaptive ANC. No way to change this like the previous models. Little disappointed. Also after a while it started randomly disconnecting. I ended up returning them, didn't feel worth $400

On the positive side, the sound and the noise reduction are the best yet, which is primary. There are, however, some negatives. Most important, these cost $400, and there is still no basic waterproofing! I don't want to go on a walk on a summer day and destroy the headphones because I am sweating or get caught in the rain. And if it rains, you can't just fold up the phones and put them in your pocket: their "innovative" design eliminated the foldable earpieces of previous versions. I almost returned them, but I decided the sound and noise reduction outweighed the negatives. But c'm'on, Sony, can't you do better than this?

If water or foreign matter enters the headset, this can result in burnout or malfunction. Avoid situations such as the following and be careful not to get moisture or dirt on the headset. With four microphones on each earcup, this is our biggest ever step forward in noise cancelling. Ambient sound is captured even more accurately for a dramatic reduction in high-frequency noise.
