I use for classes, the gym, yoga, Pilates, and every one of my hobbies. The features of the touch pad on the side is very useful and fun to use but difficult to get the hang of, but once figured out it’s easy. The price is worth it for these headphones, I recommend it greatly!

An improvement over the XM4s

ANC is top notch and the sound quality is markedly improved. As usual, Sony tends to have a warmer sound so ideal for me when listening to jazz. Will be my travel to to headphone.

Bulky, hurtful fit. Sound quality, mic tech great

It tugs on my scalp so that's a no brainer. Returned. If only they kept the xm4 fit and design combined w this lighter weight and tech. The beam mic and ai voice processing tech is incredible. The noise cancellation on the mic is possibly better than xm4 but I think Bose voice isolation is better because I tested w music on the soundbar and no one could hear blasting on zoom while I talked! Just use Sony in a quiet setting and way more crystal clear than Bose.

We’re sorry to hear the WH-1000XM5 wasn't the right fit for you. We redesigned this model with a slimmer "noiseless" headband to reduce weight, but we understand that the different distribution of pressure can feel less comfortable for some compared to the fold-flat design of the XM4.
It’s great to hear you put our AI-based voice pickup technology to the test! We take a lot of pride in that "crystal clear" vocal clarity, and it’s helpful to know how it performed for you on Zoom compared to other brands. Good sound, not so good housing

I love the sound they produce and the adaptive noise cancelling. I usually used then in transparency mode and would occasionally have to remove a earmuff if the person was speaking too softly. Unfortunately, I had to send them in to get repaired because the plastic housing broke. They were never dropped and essentially lived in the case when they weren't on my head. So I'm kind of at a loss as to how they broken. That being said, I have a sizable head (7 5/8 hat size) so maybe daily use did it. Either way I would reccomend these to a friend with a smaller head. I do wish they had some metal in the housing to make it a bit more durable.

Here are some steps you can try to improve the sound quality of your headphones:
Turn down the volume of the playback device if it is too loud.
When playing music, if the headset and the transmitting Bluetooth device are connected via an HFP or HSP Bluetooth connection, switch the Bluetooth connection to A2DP with the connected device.
Ensure proper connection.
To ensure optimal listening experience, install the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools like an equalizer to fine-tune your speaker and maximize the audio to your liking.
Make sure that the software of the headphones is updated as it includes key features, applications, bug fixes, and feature improvements.

They have great battery life, I sometimes don’t use them for a months at a time and they still have battery from when I first charged them, super good headphones

Review of my SONY XM4

I don’t think I regret purchasing it because I love using it, however, I do feel like the reviews I read online were more honest about how much noise it cancels. For example, someone said that they weren’t able to hear a crying child who was sitting next to them. I think that’s false. I feel like what it would make the outside noise faint rather thank canceling it and in my personal opinion, they cancel noise better than the XM5 (which I know many reviewers would disagree with). I don’t know if you get what I’m saying. Connecting to my headphones isn’t the worst, but I do feel like downloading the app is a little unnecessary. Other than that, customer service at Best Buy was really good and helpful!

They might look big but they are smaller and lighter than you think. I work in a very loud environment, i can still hear things but its 5-10% of what i normally would. The quality is much better than other headphones i have used. I love these headphones so much i got a second pair. Definitely worth the money
