Our XM3 and XM5 are different models from different years and have different features, capabilities and accessories. There are feature from XM5 and do not have the XM3. XM5 headphones are definitely have the latest features and functions, although, certain features are not included anymore compared to their previous model. Regarding the sound quality, the WH-1000XM5 headphones offer a high-standard audio experience, particularly considering the price point. The headphones feature different sound quality modes during Bluetooth playback, which can be adjusted using the "Sony | Headphones Connect" app. You can choose between the "Priority on sound quality" mode, which prioritizes audio fidelity, and the "Priority on stable connection" mode, which ensures a more stable wireless connection depending on your environment.

Regarding comfortability, we regret to hear that the headband padding and ear pads did not meet your expectations. The headband on the WH-1000XM5 indeed has padding, but feedback like yours may help us improve future models. This aspect is something we continually look into to provide a better user experience.
