The best ANC headphone i have righr now!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been trying plenty of headphone foe thr reaaon years. Anker, Mpow, Bose, even the Sony XM4. And XM5 is by far the best one i purchased. Bose is great, Sony XM4 is close to perfect and XM5 is even better on the comfort side. (*) I use iphone to do the comparion between bose ans sony since bose doesnt support ldac). Sound quality wise Bose and Sony is so close unless I test it side by side. Anker is great product with the price you pay, sound is decent, you have equalizer. But comfort wise, it didn't get close to Sony. Mpow is the best on low budget ANC for me now. I try some samaung in ear but i can never get use with it. As for Sony XM5, it warms up fast since it is over the ear but at least i didn't feel to hot while using it. (1) I use android phone with LDAC for sound quality testing and Android phone can usw euqailzer to get better performance. Both anker and Sony support Anker but still Anker cannot compete with Sony on most aspect except price.

I own B&W PX/PX7, Sennheiser momentum 3, Bose NC 700, Airpod Max, Focal Bathys. As an overall ANC headphone the Sony XM5 are great and will be recommended as my first choice to anyone that is looking for an ANC headphone. Its a jack of all trades. Solid ANC (not the best- the Bose QuietComfort Ultra are better for that) Mid Average sound quality (the best are Senheiser Momentum 4, Focal Bathys and Mark Levingson 5909) Best App features. LDAC codec is only supported by a few android devices. Bluetooth connection and build quality is why i gave it an 8/10. The overall plastic feel draws concerns for wear and tear and feels as if the life span may only give you 2-4 year, but great move on sony as they refresh the series every 2 years. And occasionally the bluetooth would drop, which is unacceptable in 2024. However, the XM5 still holds up for 2024 but when its on sale. I wouldnt pay $399 wait untill its $100 marked down.

A great pair of headphones for anyone to use

I am someone who loves to listen to music almost all of the time. These headphones are comfortable for long use, even with glasses. They do get hot after a while but otherwise very comfortable. The sound is also fantastic and it includes a versatile equalizer. They include a feature called multipoint connection which switches the headphones between two connected devices. This has become useful for when i am in between work and my phone. The noise cancelling is superb as well, making the world nearly silent. These headphones are definitely worth the price point.

For this please try these steps, bring the headset and the Bluetooth device within 1 m (3 feet) from each other. When pairing a device for the first time after purchase or after initializing or repairing the headset, turn on the headset and the headset automatically enters pairing mode. To pair a second or subsequent device, press and hold the power button on the headset for about 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.

It was still hard to make out the lyrics in songs and even podcasts. Also, the noise cancellation was not good at all. Any ambient noise would bleed right through, and since the audio quality already was not very good, it made the experience even worse. Please do better, Sony! If you are going to charge $400.00, please make it work next time! Thanks.

You can make few adjustments to your headphones settings to suit your needs through the Sony Headphones Connect app. It has an Equalizer setting which can be customized to fine-tune your music. This will give you more control over your headphones and their performance.

Noise is good but not the best( when u go to study at normal coffeeshop you will still hear people nice and clear yes not loud as without but i used better anc headphone befoe.

Excellent wireless noise cancelling headphones

They are mostly comfortable with one caveat. I also use them for voice chat and phone calls and haven't had any complaints from listeners. Battery life is also extremely good. I can use them all day and not have to charge them every single day. One issue is that the headband can get uncomfortable if worn for long periods on a bald head! Another complaint is the lack of a Windows app to tweak the settings in Windows. I must pair it with my phone or tablet, update the settings, and switch back. Another issue, which is not a big deal for me, is that the sound quality can degrade when connected to multiple devices simultaneously. I assume this is a problem with Windows as anything else, but I haven't done any troubleshooting yet. Overall, despite the issue, I am thrilled with these headphones, and despite their cost, if I lost them, I would get another pair. The issues they have are minor to me and not an impediment. The

NOPE, once dried they still work like new. it’s shocking. if you’re thinking about pulling the trigger on these, do it, you won’t regret it!

Before I purchased these there was a lot of hype surrounding them. They were rumored to be the best noise canceling headphones on the market with the right price so that you didn’t break the bank. So, after doing a trial run with the Airpod Max’s and discovering they weren’t all they were cracked up to be and the price point for them was absolutely ridiculous, I purchased these. I want to start off by saying that all headphones have pros and cons. But these headphones in particular, the cons outweigh the pros. For the pro column, these are large head friendly. I mean wow…as someone who has a large head and is constantly getting headaches from headphones that are clearly not meant for bigger heads, these headphones take the cake in comfort. Not only do they extend…but they extend some more!! I extended them as far as they would go and they were too big on me. I loved that! It was almost enough to make me keep them. Another pro is these headphones are truly lightweight. It doesn’t feel like you are wearing headphones when you have them on. I’d say that’s a win. However…for the cons, these headphones are not sweat or oil proof. If you want to wear these headphones to the gym, I would reconsider. I wore them doing chores around the house and naturally sweated in them and when I took them off there was very visible sweat/oil marks that would not come off. After attempting to dry some of the sweat off with no luck, I air dried them over night and the sweat stains did not fade. So I would highly advise against buying the silver/cream color because I bought the black pair and the dried sweat marks were visible. Another con is they feel very cheap and plasticity. Not worth the price point I paid for what I got. Another con is that sound quality. When I look for headphones I want a clear crisp sound with bass. I don’t want to have to blast the music at full volume just to hear clarity. I had to turn these up to full volume just to get a clear sound and to not be able to hear surrounding sounds around me. Although these say they are noise cancelling, they are not. I could still hear people talking sitting next to me with the noise cancelling feature on. So that was disappointing. All in all, some of these cons may not bother you but for someone who actively has to wear headphones for her job, they were noticeable to me and bothered me. If I had to chose between these and the AirPod Max’s, I would choose these. The price point is better and they comfort is better.

Such is the case with Sony's WH-1000XM5, the fifth generation of the 1000X series headphones, that were first released in 2016 as the MDR-1000X Wireless and have grown in popularity as each generation has improved. Sony has made some design changes over the years, but nothing as dramatic as what it has done with the WH-1000XM5. Aside from the $400 price increase, I think the changes are good, and the WH-1000XM5 contains a single key upgrade that is validly awesome, but others may disagree.
