Great audio quality

The only drawback was the headphones, as they caused perspiration in the ears after prolonged use.

Review of Sony Noise cancelling headphones.

They cut the engine noise on the 12 hour flights by about 80 percent. For an extra $100 I'm sure the next step up would cut more. But these are fine.

Don’t headphones changed my life

You can’t get them wet or moist at all it says don’t sweat in them on the Manual. Extremely sad, amazing sound quality , comfort and noise cancellation out of this world

While the WH1000XM5 units don’t have an IPX rating, these can be worn in the gym. For more serious workouts, we suggest our headphones specifically designed for that task. Check out our WF-C500s and the WF-1000XM4s.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had my doubts about these headphones, I Couldn't try them because they were not on display in the store, and still, they are not, because I often go to your store just because I like so much electronics in general. So I decided to exchange my brand new xm4 in order to try the XM5, I had read on Sony that these were the latest from Sony even though the XM4 had not been all that long on the market, and Sony was saying that the XM5 are the top of the line. So when I tried them they were effectively better than my XM4 and I kept them. About 15 days after having my XM5 I noticed that randomly they turned off while I was using them, It happened 3 times so I went back to the store and have them exchange for another XM5, and so far so good. The quality of sound is really crispy on the XM5 even better than on the XM4 which is hard to believe until you tried them.

In the default setting, the headphones use built-in sensors to detect when you wear or remove them and automatically turn the headphones on or off as needed. If you have trouble with the headphones turning off unintentionally, check the following:
When you wear the headphones over a cap, a scarf, or hair, etc., the sensors may not be able to detect that you are wearing them and may turn them off. To avoid this, be sure to set the earpads directly over the ears.
If the wearing detection still bothers you, disable the Automatic Power Off setting. You can do this using the Sony | Headphones Connect app: System → Automatic Power Off, and select Do not turn off.
If the issue is not still resolved, reset the headphones. If the issue still persists, then initialize the headphones. Note: Resetting the headphones will not delete the paring information, while initialization returns the headphones to the factory settings and all Bluetooth pairing information is deleted.

Most amazing headphones I've ever owned

You can hear things in songs that you've never heard before. I also use them on zoom calls where the ambience noise allowance is super helpful. Battery life is incredible.

Excellent gift for my 71yr old mother.

The noise cancelling is better than anything else available on the market and the comfort is above and beyond as well. They are quite expensive but these are the best ones on the market that I could find and try prior to purchasing.

The noise-cancelling worked great and I really like the simple functions on the right ear. Wore these for several hours and did not experience any discomfort. Battery life is great. Lasted the duration of our trip; 10 days, 4 flights with no charge needed. Would recommend.

Best of Both Worlds

I wish they had water resistance so that I didn't have to baby them so much but the audio quality is worth it. These aren't gym headphones, they're concentrate on listening to your music headphones.
