Can't be beat for sound quality

On to the WH1000MX5's first differences, the pads aren't as "thick" so these are our sit "closer" to your head. Second they don't fold like the MX3' did. But these connect to two devices, fit well enough for longer use, handle Ultra high and spatial Music Quality 360° services exceptionally well; Have great noise canceling and new, better mic position, pickup and clarity. The quality is there and while I prefer Van Halen and Rock music, I'm sure today's sampling / autotune crowd will be happy with them too.

The best noise canceling headphones money can buy

I actually sold my Bose headphones, which were my second backup versions for traveling, in order to get these, and don't regret it a bit. These completely are the most comfortable and lightweight headphones I've had, I wore them for 6 to 8 hours while traveling in planes, with phenomenal battery life, fantastic sound, and completely solid connectability. The app allows you to seamlessly connect to either two devices, which unfortunately makes you lose LDAC, but otherwise works perfectly. If this is important to you. The noise canceling is absolutely out of this world, you are truly in a world of your own. Are they expensive? Yes, but they are without a doubt the best noise canceling headphones you can buy. I've tried multiple different versions, from Bose, and Sony, these are by far the best ones I've ever had, and definitely will be sticking with them

I decided to give these a try and are overall pretty well. The overall sound and noise cancellation work very good and these are a lot more comfortable on me than the apple headphones. However, the volume adjusting i am not a fan of. The apple headphones just had buttons like they do on iPhones but for these you have to adjust volume which sometimes works and sometimes it ends up doing something else like rewinding a song, or skipping the song.

With an open office floor plan good noise cancelling headphones are a must. They sit comfortably over my ears and don't hurt even after hours of use, they're also not too heavy like the old 3's. The mic is good, almost too good at times. I have to be good about my muting or it'll pickup other people talking in my row. Great for music and movies as well!

Comparable, but the quality on the sound is notably better with these when listening closely. The battery life is also exceptional; I rarely have to think of charging it, & when I do it charges rapidly! The case is built well although slightly large considering the over ear style. Great headphone, one year warranty is not good

I do use them bass heavy but have a slight ting in the left driver. Warranty is out, and at the price of repair I will not be doing that. I take the best possible care of these considering it is the most expensive headphone I have ever purchased. Kind of disappointed on the fact considering the price of these. They are my favorite headphones though, I’ve tried many Bose and others. These have a warm sound and can have heavy bass when using the EQ settings. The ability for the NC to adjust based on your actions is fantastic, multipoint is great. They are a little big on me, I use the fully enclosed and they hurt the top of my head after a while. Also could clamp a little harder but this is different for everyone’s head. These are the best you can buy in this range but with a one year warranty I will not be buying more.

They pair well with Apple devices and android/PC which is ultimately why I got them, bc this one chick in my office is so incredibly loud when she’s on virtual meetings. I can still hear her, but it’s not as distracting. I do like how they are very light and comfortable. The sound and noise cancellation is comparable to the AirMax pros that my husband owns. These are much lighter. Downside is the case is rather bulky, but the AirMax pros only come with a bra-like case, LOL, and they are quite heavier. I do with the case was more hardshell. Right now the case is a canvas covered cardboard like material. If you need compact for frequent travel go with the Beats overear, otherwise, you can’t really beat these. Battery seems to last forever in between maybe an hour of listening.

The bass in music is top notch without muddying the sound. Paired with the app you unlock it's true potential. I'm more of a wired headphones guy but I find myself using Bluetooth more often than wired. Sony has Bluetooth all figured out with their LDAC codecs. I'll quickly add the ANC is bonkers. You can tune anything out .I could go on and on about how great they sound but I can't skip over the build quality. Smoothe as butter adjustments and functionality not to mention THE most comfortable over ears I've ever used. The ear cups are like clouds and if you're like me and have issues with your ears getting too hot wearing over ears mine do perfectly fine in these after 8 hour workday. Which brings me to battery life. I can use them all day Monday thru Thursday at work with a single charge and quickly charge them after getting home and finish out the week and weekend as well.

These are incredible! Great ANC, amazing sound quality over Bluetooth and 3.5mm, and very comfortable. I use them for music, planes, and games and TV when my wife is sleeping. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. The control app also allows you to choose a custom equalizer similar to choosing an eyeglass prescription (better 1 or 2?) which gives the best sound to your ears. Add to all this, the battery lasts forever. I have used these for easily 10-15 hours and only used 30% battery with ANC on full time. These are not cheap but they are certainly worth it if you want great quality. The only downside is the lack of any waterproofing (the instructions even warn against sweating. But I would still give 5 stars as these are not meant for heavy outdoor/exercise use.

Great Headphones for being on the Spectrum!

These are admittedly a pretty huge upgrade from the ATX's, however I think they are the best in their price range, especially giving you superior sound quality without getting close to $1000 like its competitors. Everything is very easy to use, phone calls are perfect, bass and audio quality for everything from heavy rap to hard rock to lullaby music is amazing. I am on the autism spectrum and hate flying for many reasons, these made my last 3 hour flight a piece of cake. Lastly, they're very comfortable, even when wearing for several hours. Genuinely, these are a lifesaver for anyone with any kind of sensory issues.

Pretty Great Headphones

Get all the good stuff out of the way: they sound positively amazing, one of the best in their class (these and AirPods Max are pretty much equal to me in sound quality). They have the absolute BEST noise cancelling I have tried. They're very light and comfortable, and the battery life is great. They paired no problem with whatever Bluetooth devices I had handy. Here's why they're 4 and not 5 for me: - They slide on my head. I know this is very different depending on a lot of factors, but I have the adjust them pretty regularly when I'm wearing them. Your mileage may vary. - They don't fold flat for travel - For some reason on two PC's in my house they sounded terrible when paired via Bluetooth. On other PC's and every other device I tried (including a Steam Deck), they sounded fine. No idea what is happening there. Overall a very worthy option if you're in the market for premium noise cancelling headphones.

Unfortunately, they don't fold as they do in the XM4. We're also sorry to know that they slide in your head. Try adjusting the headband and the earpads properly. These lightweight headphones are beautifully finished in newly developed soft fit leather. This material fits snugly around the head with less pressure on the ears while keeping out external sounds. Our elegant design with stepless slider, seamless swivel and hanger, and silent joints, makes WH-1000XM5 a pleasure to wear.
Sound quality when listening to music from a computer through your headphones may be poor (e.g., difficult to hear the singer’s voice, etc.) for the first few seconds after the Bluetooth connection is established. This is due to the computer specifications (priority on stable connection at the start of transmission and then switches to priority on sound quality several seconds later) and is not a headset malfunction.
If the sound quality does not improve after a few seconds, use the computer to establish an A2DP connection (this should increase the sound quality through your headphones). As for the operations on your computer, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the computer.

Excellent sounding noise cancellation heaphones

I bought these headphones after watching numerous reviews from YouTube. To me, they sound great out of the box but if you download the app, you can customize the sound to how you like. I'm sure there will be other reviews with how these noise cancel on a technical level but for me, my lawn company comes around at least twice a week with their loud leaf blowers, weed whackers, lawn mowers and such. With these on, I hear very minimal of that noise. They are comfortable for long periods of use (over 2 hours for me) and they aren't too heavy on the head. There's several convenience features like holding your hand over the right ear to soften the sound so you can hear other people or you can just start talking and it will do the same and stop your music (although these are neat features I think most people might find it rude if you talk to them without taking off your headphones). All in all I am very happy with the money spent on these.
