I don't like the construction materials, a lot of plastic, but they are very comfortable. I also want to add a complaint to BestBuy for taking away my points that I had stored in the points bank. They removed them when they made the change from storing points to only credit card customers. I contacted support and they told me they would return them to me, but this never happened and in the end they just said they couldn't return them to me. I don't know if this was because I am a foreign customer (Mexican) but I find the treatment ridiculous when I have spent more than 20,000 dollars on their website. But well, I guess I will start looking for alternatives. Another complaint is about a Christmas purchase where I bought several video games for the family. I bought them confidently because they had an extended warranty for returns but they did not validate this warranty. They told me that it was not applicable to video games when the website clearly showed that those items had that extended period of time.

I never turn them up more than halfway and it really shuts out any and all noise. The noise cancellation is also a big plus. I hardly have to charge them. Have had them for a few years and really like them. I only didn’t make them a 5 because sometimes at the gym they slide off. Might just be because my head isn’t big enough. Also comes with a cord if you want to plug them into a device. But I’ve found that noise cancellation doesn’t work if it’s plugged in instead of being connected to Bluetooth.

We appreciate the feedback about them slipping at the gym. For active workouts, our WF-1000XM5 earbuds might be a more secure fit.
Just a tip: noise cancellation does work when the headphones are plugged in with the audio cable, but only if they're powered on.

Switches between apps and phone automatically. The noise cancellation works very well. They are light and easy to wear all day without ear pain as long as you follow the fit directions included. The case is nice for storing. They charge quickly (about 45 minutes from low charge to fully charged) and battery life is great. I can use them for 3, 8-hour days without charging.

Very good over ear headphones

The noise canceling is not mind blowing but is great in comparison to the rest of the higher end over ear headphones. I bought them on the holiday sales, which made it a great value.

Comfortable and an excellent product

These however are very comfortable and light! The battery life is excellent and the sound quality is excellent as well. I have other Sony headphones, so having the app for all of them is extremely convenient

Bought them 2 weeks ago, came with 54% battery out of the box and been using them every other day for 2 hours flights. Have not recharged them yet. Sound quality is really good. Better than apple, and slightly better than bose. They are equalized with higher bass, but can be fixed with the heaphones app.

Very worth the money and I would recommend to everyone. Fit very well in the ears. Only “complaint” is in the gym when you get sweaty they slip a little bit that’s with every over ear headphone. I’ve had them over a month and haven’t had to charge them, they basically last forever. These are VERY great.

There is a pro and con with its associated phone app, but overall I like its integration and tuneability of the bass/treble levels to your liking. In the realm of bluetooth ANC headphones ive owned the 1000 XM2 / Bose NC 700/ Sennheiser Momentum 3/ Bower & Wilkins PX/ PX7’s /Apple Airpods Max & Master & Dynamic MH65. Each brand has its pros and cons and design uniqueness. In retrospect, i love headphones and respect each companies vision for their products. In regards to the the XM5, in short these are a GREAT addition to the 1000 lineup! Remember, these are wireless consumer grade headphones. So wireless codec even though its LDAC supportive will never get even close to a wired headphone with a DAC connected to it. Bluetooth as it stands cant even compare to a CD Quality grade sound which is 16 bit 44.1 kHz. So take that info for what its worth. Proper Hi Res support is attainable via wired designated (Sennheiser HD 650/ Focal Clear/ HiFiMan) and a DAC/AmP with a proper source like Tidal/ Qobuz & Apple Music loseless. As a general consumer product its perfect. Its drivers though smaller is much more refined from the XM’s the EQ option is perfect. The noise cancelling is stronger than the XM4’s. The major upgrade are the voice mics their much clearer and crisper for yhe receiver. The design to me feels more premium from the XM4, just unfortunate that it doesnt fold. Now in terms of value, thw price is just right. Comparedto the Apple Airpods Max thats a toigh choice. If youre in the apple ecosystem definitely get the Max over the XM5 but overall i would choose the XM5 due to the app and weight of the headphones.

Excellent Noise Cancelling Headphones

It is a bit hard to recommend at the full $400 price but on sale it is an excellent pair of headphones. My only two complaints are, some of the smart ambient mode features override you when you have it set to ambient turning back to noise cancelling when you don't want it to. As well, be warned that when you hook it up to a computer to try and use it for Discord if you use the microphone and listen at the same time the Bluetooth connection forces the audio and microphone quality to be poor quality so if you want to use it for that purpose get a cheap microphone so it will keep the good audio quality.
