Hi runwarez, we're glad you like our industry leading noise canceling headphones. We're sorry to hear that you have a physical damage on your Sony unit. It is not recommended to wear over-ear headphones like the WH-1000XM5 while sleeping due to potential discomfort and the risk of damaging the headphones or causing harm to your ears. A broken headband is physical damage not covered by the warranty.

We strongly recommend following the steps below to help resolve this:

1. Verify Audio Settings:

For Android Devices: During a call, tap the speaker or Bluetooth icon and select "WH-1000XM5 Hands-Free."

For iOS Devices: During a call, tap the audio icon and select "WH-1000XM5 Hands-Free."

For Computers: During a call, right-click the speaker icon on the taskbar, open sound settings, and select "Headset (WH-1000XM5 Hands-Free)" from the output dropdown list.

2. Firmware Update to Version 2.4.1:

3. Reset the Headset:

4. Initialize (Factory Reset):

Use this step to fully restore the headset settings if resetting does not resolve the issue. (Please note this will delete all pairing information.) Detailed instructions can be found at the link: https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/wh1000xm5/v1/en/contents/TP1000541013.html
